Draw today at noon. We can meet any of 15 contenders, no restrictions:
Almost only really cool and reputable competition, can't understand why anyone wouldn't want us to compete in this part of EL.

Who would you want us to meet?
Qualified teams
I'd prefer Braga, and let all the other heavy weights fight it out between them selves to get rid of some.
Alternatively, ManUtd to ship them out of the competition.

Matches 10th & 17th of March.

Dortmund. I want to see us play the big teams and it's not too far away.

Sparta Prague and Braga have to be the two we would be strongest favourites in, and I definitely want to avoid the other English, Dortmund and Sevilla. Wouldn't like the trips to Fenerbahce or Donetsk either.

Fuck it, let's get Villarreal. Give Soldado some love.

I like your approach. I'd just want to have one more round without facing any of the big ones before we get into the thick of it. That's just my general preference for this stage of any tournament. A bit luck with the draw never hurt anyone.

Villarreal. Would be nice to welcome Soldado back to the lane, and I personally think they're beatable over 2 legs despite their decent domestic season.

In terms of ease, It would be Braga or Sparta Prague.

Would also like to add that the EL is the third most prestigious trophy a European club can win. We can't be so stupid as to not take it seriously when we've got to the last 16.

Lots of people saying Villareal, they're one of those teams that we'd really struggle to break down IMO, even Napoli's potent attack only managed 1 goal in 2 games, probably top of my list to avoid in the next round.

And they have a really good assister up front ... (Roberto Assistado).

Is the draw today also include QF?
Separate draw 18th of March.

Sparta, Anderlecht and Braga would be easier.

Rest is fairly solid.

I have a feeling we will draw a Spanish side.

We could draw ManU or Liverpool, no?
Yes. Completely open draw, no restrictions.

I hate playing other English teams in Europe, takes all the fun out of it. So hope we can avoid that (but would PMSL if they drew each other).

How many of the last 16 are champions league dropouts i wonder? I could look it up but am a bit lazy.

Shakhtar, Man Utd, Sevilla, Leverkusen and Valencia from the CL group stages, Basel and Lazio from the play-off round, and Fenerbahce and Sparta Prague from the qualifiers. Us, Anderlecht, Liverpool, Dortmund, Braga, Bilbao and Villareal have only been in the EL this season.

On paper Sparta Prague or Braga look the most favourable teams. Although the league games we have following the two legs are Villa away and Bournemouth at home so if we did get a tougher draw it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Villareal are exactly the type of team we should be avoiding IMO, technically and tactically well drilled and difficult to break down and I don't trust Spanish teams, they are very good when it comes to European competitions.
