lol ok? Which 'statistics' are 'average'?

Whoscored.com ratings.
All 5 and 6s.
Whoscored.com stats
2 tackles/game. around 80% passing success.

I take Lee Cattermore to be your bog-standard DM...
Ratings all 6s/7s.
Stats: 2.7 tackes/game, 82% passing success.

Not saying Cattermore is better as i don't see him play enough; but he isn't better than Cattermore, so nothing amazing about him.

Capoue's passing success is actually 84% (So I guess it's "Around" 80%")

His total rating in the prem is actually 6.89 compared to cattermoles 6.57

He also has 2.5 interceptions compared to cattermoles 1.3.

Whoscored stats for last year: http://www.whoscored.com/Regions/74...476/PlayerStatistics/France-Ligue-1-2012-2013

Capoue had an average rating of 7.5 which was the 2nd highest in the entire league behind Ibrahimovic. 6 MOTM performances which was the 3rd highest in the league. Does that change your opinion, considering that it's so heavily based on whoscored.com stats?

In any case, stats aren't that reliable. Plus players like Capoue usually take time to adjust to this league. But you should judge players based on the things you observe, not what stats tell you.

Also you aren't right that all his ratings are 5's and 6's on whoscored. He got an 8.78 rating in our game against Newcastle. Also 4 out of 7 games where he played the full 90 minutes, he got above a 7 rating.

Who scored dont take into consideration if a player is subbed on or off, so the time spent on the bench not able to do anything is counting against them

I didnt see any of Capoue last season, but for most(?) of the games he has played this season its been under AVB where we have tried to dominate possession. I still think a player like Capoue of Sandro is needed, but wont rack up defensive stats.

Stats should be used to back up your point (y)
