Never been to England so he's not a proper fan?

This attitude annoys me.

What attitude is that mate? I never said he was a proper fan but what he doesn't have is an understanding of the rivalry between the 2 clubs. He didn't even know that they're originally from south London but wanted to have some sort of banter with me.

Have you ever heard the term "donkey have no rights in a horse race"

You made reference to never having been to England as if that made him an inferior fan. Entirely separate to any other point on the understanding of the rivalry between the two clubs and Arsenal's Woolwich origins.

The whole team were bad against Liverpool and frankly AVB didn't seem to have a clue - he set us up poorly and then could not react to being 2-0 down - that's why he was marched. Capoue was no worse, no better than the rest of a motley bunch.

I just analyzed the highlights. He didn't have a foggy notion what he was doing. He was playing out of position the whole match. I honestly don't think he was aware that he was a Center Back, but rather was aware that he was a central midfielder. Him & Dawson were not in the least bit a Central Defensive partnership in that match but were totally disconnected the entire time and that didn't help our cause.

Hopefully this thread can be used to give him prasie in the weeks and months ahead and I will gladly remove what I've just written.

One thing is having a player that can play CB....another thing is having a player that can play CB and plays CB week in week out with a permanent partner.....

I'd also add:

The demands on a centre half are very different to the demands of a defensive midfielder, it is easy to see why he found this position difficult.

If this is more a question of passion then ability there is not much you can say. Walker, Sandro, Holtby and even Soldado looked like they were about to blow a casket at the end of the Liverpool match, they look like they care. When it comes to Capoue the poor lad has been played out of position twice now, and probably a third time tomorrow. I refuse to judge him until he plays in his natural position for a run of games.

I don't understand the WTF?! rating.

Anyone who plays or coaches the game knows that the two positions are very different and the attributes needed differ a lot, from the point of view of the individual and the team. Same as if I referred to centre half and full back.

Not sure why on earth the Capoue thread was locked up. There was no clear reason. Anyway, here's a replacement. I really want to see him start today. No excuses.

Where the hell is he? Injured? I feel he's not been given a fair chance. I also feel like everyone on here has forgotten about him.

I don't see how Capoue or Sandro can be expected to play well when they are playing for a coaching team that doesn't even think that their best position exists.

You won't see a good performance from Capoue or Sandro until Sherwood and Ferdinand are gone.

He's definitely injured. I remember him going off with quite a serious ankle injury in his last game about a month ago (iirc).

No doubts about his ability. LVG would really bring that fighting attitude back to him.

I think it would be a mistake to let him go just yet. Anyone know how much we paid for him?

Glimpses of the pace and zip he had when he first came, and then he got injured and when he came back it looked like he was wading in treacle.

Hope he can get his edge back; good player.
