I do like Nuno's template for having 3 pacy forwards in a 4-3-3

Just need a creative midfielder like Aouar to come in and we'll be a lot more fluid.

Better second half. But as I said earlier. Kante coming off killed their press. Credit where it is due. Winks looked good tonight. And second half the defence looked a lot more solid.

You have to remember that some of these players won't be regulars as the season goes on, not only that but Tuchel's teams are very good at breaking the oppositions patterns of play.

Tonight was a bit of a baptism of fire for Nuno. He didn't have the tools and he's up against top quality opposition.
No surprise we looked off it.

Mmm, give it time and we might get there. But with less than nine days until the Premier League season starts, and so far no outfield signings at the club, it's going to be a slow start, no?

As much as I hate to admit it, he played well. I think it helped that Kante went off but I think we passed it better in the second half.
"Hate to admit it"? It sounds almost like you're on about an opposition player rather than a Spurs academy product! I'm over the moon, he had a brilliant game.

Dele's pace and movement is just painful to watch. Like watching someone at a vets game coming back from a long term injury
Yup. Hard to see a place for him in this formation, personally. That third CM spot really has to be Lo Celso or Ndombele if we persist with the 4-3-3.

Might get away with Dele in that role against bottom half teams when we dominate the ball and Dele can get in the box, but when he's that deep he looks bang average and all his best qualities are completely nullified.

In all fairness :pompous: Chelsea played and beat Arsenal last Saturday. We’ve had a week without a match since we beat MK Dons.

Nothing special but glad our heads didn't drop and we kept going, friendly or not it's a boost if you don't lose these games and even more so being 2 nil down.
All game had no one to hold the ball up was good to see Dane do just that soon as he came on .....could find himself playing a fair amount of games this season .

You can see just how good and important Kante is for Chelsea. Take him out and it all changes.

Kante does the work of two players. Absolutely incredible player but gets away with giving away 400 niggling fouls a game imo.

That's been inevitable for some time. You just can't fix problems as deep as we saw last season over summer, even in ideal circumstances which we certainly haven't had. It's a real challenge now.

Don’t think Bryan is a goalie mate.

Everyone needs to stop judging so much.

Its a friendly, hence Chelsea pulling their entire team off after 60 minutes.

We have a lot of players missing and hopefully some good signings on the way.

This negativity is killing us.
What's killing us is average players from poor recruitment and poor passages of play.

So alongside Romero we do need another CB. A new RB is a must. Certainly need a creative midfielder in the Eriksen mould. Depending on what happens to Harry K, will need 1 or possibly 2 more strikers.

A bit disingenuous there. Thats a U23 team at the Olympics and he doesn't start.
3 with cup qualifiers don’t count suddenly?
Sorry I got the age slightly wrong but none of that changes my point. Add in that he is still at the Olympics adds to the issues of integrating him into the side.

Add in that as a young player he might be an absolute sensation but he might also need a good 6 months plus to adjust to the PL.
Your point is fine, but I’m bored of the constant writing off of Gil’s first season by several posters because he’s young. You don’t play in the Spanish attack without being good, even if it’s not what it was, and we haven’t spent one of our top 5 or top 10 fees ever (depending on how much you think Lamela was values at) on him to not play regularly.
