When a big man goes down and looks like he's in that much pain, I'm expecting a few months out.

However, Sandro is back - the hero. This is the beauty of having great squad depth

If however, the fibula is fractured in line or above the level of the talus, this causes instability of the ankle joint due to disruption of the not only the above mentioned ligaments, but also the supporting ligament between the fibula & tibia & would therefore require surgery (open reduction & internal fixation - ORIF - a combination of screws & plates) to stabilise the ankle joint.
The rehabilitation for these is significantly longer - probably a minimum of 3months. This classification system is known as Weber's.
This is exactly what I did playing a few years ago. No gas and air required, so given Capoue seems far more of a beast than me, I suspect it may be something slightly worse. Everyone's pain tolerance is different though.

I left the metal work in for a few years but I seem to remember this could come out pretty soon if you wanted and I'd have thought he could be back in about 12 weeks if it is similar

Did Avb really say the fibula? That would be better than a broken ankle I would imagine. Looks very bad, just hope he can make it back by Xmas, can't imagine better news than that to be honest. Dreading its a season long injury. Any ideas when we are likely to hear something?

Get well soon big guy, looks a class act. Thank god Sandro is back, looks like it will be a busy season for him, hopefully his knee is up to it.

A big blow for sure IMO. Can't get much better back up for the DM position that Sandro but I have to admit I wanted to see him continue occupying the position. He generally sits more than Sandro does and is more composed on the ball. I don't want it to sound like an unnecessary player comparison but I just really liked what he'd bought to the team and had enjoyed watching him.
Completely disagree. I love capoue from what I have seen, but Sandro is a far superior player. Capoue is his backup not visa versa. Sandro shields the back four much better, but capoue is better going forward. When Sandro came on yesterday I think we looked more solid in the middle.

Edit. Sorry not the time or place for this. Just can't believe people would underestimate Sandro having carried us for the first half of last season and some legendary performances like at the San siro. The guy bleeds Tottenham.

I'm really gutted about Capoue and its kind of still there even though I know Sandro is such a tank. I guess it's the fear of losing him too. Having said that, the scum only just bought a CDM and Giroud is their only striker. Must also bear in mind that Sandro seems more susceptible to injuries though.

Just been chatting to my French neighbour about him. Says he's just a fringe player for France and isn't anything special. Cabaye is miles ahead of him in the picking order so he says. What if he played for Arsenal I asked (he's a Gooner) so he just changes subject and starts going on about how we lack creativity. I point out our creative midfielder purchases were made on Friday and one wasn't even a sub. The importance of that win to them was much bigger than if we'd won. You only have to look at how relieved they were to play somebody decent and get a win.

Not exactly all Capoue related but i've literally just had this chat so thought i'd put it on here anyway. They actually believe they aren't as good as us. It's simple really for all the mindless bravado you might hear from a Gooner, they are very worried, and they know damn well we are only going to improve.

No reason for L 'Equipe to make anything up although I wonder if they know the full story. When Sandro got injured we released a statement saying he wouldn't be out for too long, I don't think the club will be saying anything about injuries anymore untill they've got about 5 Doctor's opinions.

It was actually AVB after the game saying he would't be out for too long. Our statement after that was that he was going to be out for the season and how he was having surgery.

that would be fantastic news.. I have a dream of a Sandro - Capoue 'double hounds of hell' laughing maniacally in front of the defence, freeing all the creatives to cause mayhem up front...

He's a beast like Sandro. His body has healed a double break into no more than a sprain within 18 hours!

Really good news if true. (y)

I was truely gutted yesterday seeing him limp off. Up until that point he was our best player; well in the second half. Capoue is going to be immense in the future. So happy we have him, and his Sandro healing powers. TheBeast#2

Another gutting aspect of this is that he was in such peak physical firm. There was itk to the effect that he'd broken all records for fitness in his medical .... gutting to lose that
