I sprained my ankle playing basketball on a skiing holiday when I was 14 and it never healed properly, it clicks now and it's easy for me to sprain it again. It didn't hurt as much as Capoues looked like it hurt him, but I was pretty sure I'd broken it and was in agony. A month is good news, I thought he was done for the season after seeing it.

The protective boots and crutches are part of helping him recover quickly. Without the boots and crutches he will be asserting on the injured ankle and it will delay his recovery. No need to be alarm.

I'm glad he's okay. I think he's going to be a great player for us, though he gave the ball away a lot yesterday.

LOL at some of the comments above. I was watching the game with two other Spurs mates, and we were smugly talking about what a tough, brick shithouse we now have in the middle of the park - and then alas he was rolling around on the pitch with his hands over his face almost in tears -- because of sprained ankle... our conversation kind of tailed off and then there was an awkward silence.

A 'sprain' like the 'flu' is one of those commonly misappropriated medical phrases that we ordinary folk use to describe a plethora of minor ailments. Medical Sprain, like medical Flu is much more serious.

I'm not being funny but it has been less than a week since he sprained it. Were people expecting him to be back in light training or something? Of course he'll still have a boot and crutches - his legs are his career. :p

I was thinking the same, just because he has a boot and crutches it doesn't mean that he's now out for 6 months or whatever. I'm no doctor but I would have thought this was just standard to keep the ankle in a fixed position and the crutches obviously for next to no pressure on it.

Good to see him in the new signings photo today- not in any protective boot or anything- seems to be making progress :)

Was this on the OS?

Yup- new signings photo + couple of pics of him in the general team photo picture- been quite a lot of news today in the OS so you will have to go onto the news archive.

Can't post it here because of the copyright bullshit...
