I dont know why people keep saying 'the front 3.' Son has looked decent today and will get better as time goes on. Richy and Kulu are the glaring weaknesses in this team so far.

I'm sorry, I'm not having he's short of confidence. It's been over a year now. He has been absolute shit. Needs upgading asap.
His poor form will likely kill his confidence, no? I'm not disputing he hasn't been bad; he has. And I called it when he first came in that his form was because he was an unknown quantity and one-trick pony. Once teams worked him out, he wouldn't have the tools to continue his form. So far, this has worked out. But I trust Ange. He must see something. Though I hope he changes things when it becomes clear Kulu isn't going to recover his first 6 months.

Good first half overall. Think the ref has been poor. Aarons should have been booked for the rugby tackle on Maddison. There was that challenge on Romero and Bissouma that were just blatent barges that weren't given. And we should have had a penalty when Richarlison was through as the handball slowed the ball down enough to get it stuck in his feet otherwise he was getting a shot away on goal. Although tbh I thought the Romero challenge that set us on the way for that counter was a foul even though he got the ball I felt he went through the player to get it.

Still plenty of improvement to come but really encouraging first half again. Maddison, Bissouma and Udogie have been excellent on the ball and receiving the ball under pressure.

My only complaint from the first half is we are only 1 up.

He isnt the fastest but his issue at the moment isnt speed.

He has lost his rhythm.

Its funny that people are saying he doesnt work in these situations when under Conte he had that brilliant 3 month period where he was turning defenders inside and out on the counter.

He can do it he is just out of rhythm. That comes with time.

Yep. Lo Celso had a brief stint in 2019 and yet we give him the benefit of the doubt, despite having done nothing in 4 years. Oh well.

Richy so unlucky with his cutback when one on one. If it wasn’t for the deflection off the defender’s arm, it would have sat perfectly for him. It’ll come.

It's so long since kulusevski played well, was his initial burst just surprise factor, and now he's been worked out he has no answer

Brennan Johnson looks like a move we need to be making. Someone to push Kulusevski out of the starting role.
We’ve got loads of money to spend and should be setting our sights on someone far better than Brennan Johnson

Those 5 former players you mention.

That is basically an entire new line across the middle
And, I know its early days, but VdV looks like he was born to play in this system. Amazing composure for someone so young, with limited senior experience, and playing just his 3rd PL match.

We’ve gone from an awful midfield last season to the best midfield this season. It’s amazing how quick the culture can change!

Must say I've been impressed by Porro these past 2 games after he got the brainfarts out of his system in the first 10 mins vs United.

Really didn't think he would work in a back 4 in the PL but so far he's more than holding his own.

Crazy how far we have come in only 3 games under Ange. Some of the football has been so good. Maddison, Bissouma and Romero have all been class.

I really get the Brenan Johnson links now. He would look really good in this set up imo. Trust big Ange! COYS

Really good half

I also have my doubts about the front three but they work their socks off and create space for the very good midfield.

I still maintain that I'd like to see Porro not inverted, pushed high and wide and then move Kulu inside. It would suit both of them even though I think Porro has been excellent today
