Ban this muppet Ekoku from the stadium

Honestly its like when Porro got kicked and got mocked for it. What's with the commentators and their pop at us when we clearly get kicked up in the air a lot of times? Someone needs to have a word.

Efan Ekoku provides commentary like he's in the waiting room for a prostate exam.
I’m still annoyed that I had to sit through that shite commentary. He passed some kind of job interview for this at some point. ‘Hugo came out at half time. Should have done it before the game when everyone hadn’t gone for a pint.’ Oh yeah, big crowd 20 minutes before a game when no one thinks of having a pint.

It was the right ball played perfectly, he clearly didn't know Veliz was as bad as he was I'm not sure anyone realised he was that badly off.
Yeah, it was actually a really good ball from Hojbjerg and in all the noise and chaos, I don't think many on the pitch really realised how much Veliz was struggling.
I do think that Sonny, being the skipper and the nearest to him should have twigged but that's easy for me to say, I'm not caught up in the game.

If he didn't realise Veliz couldn't run then he was the only one in stadium. It was a truly terrible decision and as his team mate he should have known how bad he was.

Only just got to watch the full 90 and the commentary both written and the shite that we have to listen to really did not reflect what I saw.

The first 30 was pretty much all Spurs. Bournemouth had some chances but they didn't really control things until around the 40th minute. Up until that point there were scrappy chances for both sides. The same goes for the second half. They had us pinned for the opening 10 until we hit them with that counter that Richarlison really should have finished, after that things changed.

Personally I think that once again vs Bournemouth it was the changes they made that gave us control. Kluivert and Sinisterra were really causing us trouble, especially the latter who was winning his 1v2's against Porro and Skipp. We failed to deal with him all game but the moment those two went off for Billing and Semenyo, Bournemouth lost a lot of their attacking impetus.

Hojbjerg did well when he came on, but it was their lack of threat that gave us more control in the game. After those subs we looked just as likely to score and did get two great goals. Bournemouth created a few more good opportunities that either their forwards were not in the right position to finish or where the final ball wasn't good enough.

Despite the pass to Johnson for the third goal I'm not a fan of Emerson at CB. He was a weak link in our defensive line and tbh I'd rather see what Phillips or Dorrington have to offer in the Cup against Burnley. Skipp was also really poor today and ran around like a headless chicken offering very little in attack or defence. This comes from someone who has been a big supporter of the lad too, but it's frightening how far he has regressed since he was starting under Nuno. He was never an expansive player but you could rely on him to defend well, he's not even offering that now.

I didn't know, I didn't know he was going to collapse in a heap and obviously neither did Hojbjerg.
It's just another excuse to have a pop at Hojbjerg and if the rolls were reversed people on here would be crucifying Hojbjerg for not going down to let Veliz know he was injured.

That's not the case with me and even yesterday I was defending him on here but fact is he should have known his own team mate couldn't run. No idea how you weren't aware of it, Veliz was fucked for a few mins before that pass. A player must have awareness of what's going on like that. I stand by it was one of the worst decisions I have seen a player make on the pitch, picking a pass to crocked Veliz when Son was on the other side.

Alright lads and lasses, I am about to jump in the car for a 10-hour drive - but I’ll be listening to the match.

Play nice, be supportive, and hopefully we come away with 3 points and no new injuries or suspensions.

COYS!

(and happy new year!)

Also those at the stadium - please give Hugo a rousing send-off!

So - funny story. I listen to the first half with no problem. Only downside was not being able to see/understand the severity of Sarr's injury, but pleased to have heard his goal, and new that Bournemouth were the aggressor team at the end of the half. By the time half-time came, I was in rural Alabama and hit a dead spot in my mobile coverage - so my feed went away. I figured it was a sign and closed the NBC Sports App - and for the next 3 hours it was Schrödinger'S Spurs - in my mind, they both won the game, and lost the game. I would envision how Spurs won, and also how they gave the game away - until we stopped to eat and I could finally check the score!

Now that we are back home, I can watch the second half with the comfort of knowing the outcome!

Sorry for the negativity but I just can’t see a win today , agree with others that we will need to score 3 and that’s quite an ask when u consider deki is out and son looked like he was playing in quick sand on Thursday . One last push before the new year 🙏
Scored 3 we did 😊

Another week on MOTD where Spurs win but they spend the whole analysis sucking off the team that lost
To be fair Bournemouth were very very good for about 60 mins of this match.

They’ve praised us a ton when we’ve played really well or dominated teams but they need to balance their analysis out and Bournemouth deserved a decent mention after how they played today.

But obvs very happy with our fairly gritty and clinical win.

Honestly, what's the point of criticizing him for this? Maybe he did know, maybe he should have passed it to Son. Either way, he had Veliz open, making the run. If that happens you've got to be able to trust your teammate. This time it didn't work out, but the instinct to trust Veliz was the correct one.

Bentancur coming back before I thought he would was an unexpected Godsend
It certainly lifted my spirits on the walk to the stadium. I can imagine the entire team was lifted when it was known he was playing

My two pennies worth… I thought Destiny was excellent defensively using pace and power to get us out of trouble a few times, he does need to have a bit more confidence when he’s in the opposition area. Although Johnson didn’t set the world alight, I thought it was his best game for us with a couple of excellent crosses and he worked hard. We lost a bit of dynamism when Sarr went off, and I’m not blaming Skipp, I think Sarr gives us more energy and he has developed a great understanding with Porro.
Richie is looking more and more comfortable each week since he’s been back, and he gave us the option to be more direct from Vic with him holding up the ball. Ben Davies was also a rock again - Very calm and just gets on with it.
My MoM is Lo Celso who I thought worked his backside off and added creativity to our MF.
