-We should be buying the left-footed left-winger we need, unless we plan to pput Bale there - in which case a good left full-back would be in order

I find it hilarious people talk up Bentley so much after 1 really good season and in the same breath they have a massive pop at Downing, when the latter probably does more and has more pace and they're similar players.

1 good season-he got player of the season last season, and could possibly get it again this season..
i actually think downing is a pretty decent player-i do think he needs to leave boro tho..and i wouldnt say downing does more then bentley..

Imo Bentley has only 'done it' over the course of about 1 full season (most of this and the latter of last). He's a good player but not exactly exceptional and I don't believe he's any better than Downing, infact, I don't think he offers as much as Downing would to a Ramos team.

Both of a similar age too, I just find it funny how people are so led by the media, one is a golden boy at the moment - worth a £15m splash, and one is a whipping boy who's not worth £6-8m

It will soon change when Bentley gets found out playing for England and the sun starts hammering him.

My bro (Blackeye fan and supporters trust bod) seems to think the new contract talks are as a result of Blackburn trying to negotiate out a release clause in his current deal. Rumour has it he is stalling over the deal until European footy is guaranteed......or not.
