its all about a stable squad, manager, and a midfield made of steel.

Yep, a 5 man midfield comprising of New Kids on the Block was a masterstroke by O'Neill. Would Redknapp have thought of it? I think not :-|

I have sort of mixed feelings about it. Of course I'd like to see Arsenal miss out on CL, with all of the economic and recruiting problems that might entail. But I wouldn't want to see Villa establish themselves as a top-flight side either...

So I think the ideal scenario would be for Villa and Everton to finish 3-4 (though I doubt Everton can do it), but then lose their CL qualifiers, get all their best players poached (preferably by European clubs), and fade back into mediocrity, similarly to what happened to Everton several years back.

Meanwhile Arse hits an economic crisis, Fabregas and any of their other good players leave, Wenger out, sold to some sleazy junk bond type a la 'Pool, and a general downward spiral.

And after we bounce back after our brilliant 16th place finish (on goal difference) this year, we'll be set to march up the table and fill the power void left by the wreckage of Arse, Villa, hell why not 'Pool too after management level shennanigans send their season into a tailspin and see them nicked for 4th by Everton (oh the pain) on the last day, as Robbie scores that late injury time goal to save us from relagation and condemn them to the embarrassing UEFA (make that Europa) cup.

Well, that would be the case anyhow if the karmic theory of reality actually turned out to be true. Ok, I'll stop smoking now.

If the Goons didn't make the CL you would think that Cesc, RvP and Adebayor would be itching to leave. Woolwich have lost big players before even though they have been in the CL. Florentino Perez will want to make some big signings at Real but i would hope Cesc would go back to Barca.

I wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea go after MON. And he might see it as his last chance to manage a big club in the Champions League and challenging for the title. If that were to happen then i expect them to go after Ashley Young in the summer.

One of the Sky 4 will always do something to stop a team like Villa breaking them up. We know first hand with the loss of Carrick, then Berbatov.

Martin ONeill won't go to Chelsea - he has a project underway and is a proud and loyal man. He will eventually go to Manchester United when Fergie moves upstairs for a seamless transition period.

I'd have money on Reikjaard myself. He is out of work and so won't cost a compensation payment, can be emplyed until the end of the season when Abrahmovic will review the situation and go from there.

Hiddink is ruling himself out and there are no other suitable, and more aptly, available candidates right now.

Hiddink is the shiz.

Probably about time he ditched Russia. As with Australia and South Korea before them he's probably taken them as far as he can.

He is probably the best manager out there for me, proven on all levels. If he can't get them challenging again, nobody can. Roman must spend money though.

After seeing the scum's show against us I have no doubt Villa will steal their Champs League spot.

Villa's result away against Blackburn is the exact type of game we would throw away and I thought it was a great result against a team unbeaten under Big Sam.

I think Villa will definately be able to get the CL spot. I think the 4th could well be a battle between Chelsea and the scum.

I hope alot of the Villa players get played in the England game, just so its not so boring to watch as usual. Get Gabby, Young, and Milner playing and it might be a bit exciting to watch.

I'd love to see Ashley Young in the England team. And Agbonlahor as the furthest forward and Rooney dropping off could be great too. Barry, Young and Agbonlahor to start (if they're all available as i haven't followed whats happening with Villa lately)

Hiddink has apparently said that he will not leave Russia as the project is 'not finished yet', which essentially means that until SA 2010 he will be Russia boss and if Chelsea can't accept that he'll be away when internationals are on then he won't take the job. He did a great job combining the PSV and Australia jobs so he is one of very few people who has proved can do it.
