Benny out for the rest of the season.
What else could go wrong?

I would rather Bale at left back.....at least that way he may stay on the left. We need to win the last 4 games and at the moment are far too easy to predict how to play against. Something like Bale at left back would throw our opponents game plans out. Playing 2 of Parker/Sandro/Livermore to cover him bombing forward may work.
I think Kaboul being out for the season is worse news. But yea, it sucks.
Even so, if we get our act together we should be winning our remaining games, with Ekotto or without.

If only we had a youngish CB who, when given regular games showed real form and played a part in our top 4 campaign. /scratches head
Which actually may not be a bad idea...Even, dare I suggest it, 4-4-2 with Modric wide left, he'll drop more central and let Bale overlap. Then, like you say, 2 DM to cover our paper-thin defense.

I'm guessing we opted for a negligible loan fee rather than the option of recalling Caulker... Or Bassong, for that matter...
