Something like;

Friedel
Walker Gallas King Bale
Parker Sandro
Lennon VdV Modric
Adebayor
Interesting, but I think defensively we will get raped - especially down that left flank.

I think we would if had strong opposition to play against, but I think that would give them more to worry about if I am honest.

I don't expect it to happen, I would just prefer it to seeing Danny Rose.

Judging on BAE's recent performances it may not be too much of a loss.

Rose did pretty well last season when he had a run of games, I think he will be fine.

Rose is a poor footballer who does everything at 100 miles an hour.
Maybe he will improve into a player but i've seen little evidence to suggest it (flukey goals asside)

BAE is a fatigued footballer who has not been at his best recently but is an integral part of the football we can play.

With the calibre of teams we have left to play this season would rather see Bale moved to LB. would make us more direct but maybe we need that. (and he definitely cannot roam at LB...)

Yep, this is exactly what I was getting at, I know Rose has a lot of fans on here and I'm obviously grateful for his goal against the Goons but I think the same.

Its Bale at left back for me also. We need to win all our games, two full backs with license to get forward.
Shit or bust time.

Oh God, recalling Caulker in January...and yeah, good old Bambi on ice. Yes, he's a bit limited but he's shown he can do a job when needed. Depending on his CB partner of course.

Yeah, whenever Bassong had a run of games and was allowed to get settled into the team he did well. When he got sporadic one game here, one game six weeks later he sometimes struggled. Seemingly as a result of this he was cast aside.

I'm actually starting to think Bale at left back would be a good idea. Would reign him in a bit, keep him on the left even when he goes forward. Rose can defend, so if it's him and Bale on the left then either can drop back when the other goes forward. Whether or not it would actually work like that, who knows.

I don't.
I thought he was alright...but said, several times, at the time, that he had a tendency to dwell on the ball that I didn't like...especially when he did it more than once on the edge of our own area, and it was only thanks to the fact we weren't punished on these occasions that it didn't stick in folks minds.

Having said that, I didn't think it was terminal, and we sure could use him right now...nice one 'Arry (y)

Well not the worst news. Haven't been that impressed with Ekotto recently if I'm being honest.

Time for you to stake a claim on a future at THFC, young Mr. Rose. Think he'll do alright myself, accepting the odd miastake, maybe even a real clanger thrown in.

Good luck.
not sure he's better than Naughton....

I love Ekotto and he has had a fine season. His defending as of late has been a bit poor but then so have most of the defence. What annoys me is that players tend to play him the ball more than anyone, whether they think he is more relaxed or likes the ball I don't know but he gets forced the ball too much when we don't know what to do.

Thank you for a good season Ekotto and I hope you have a good summer and come back ready for another long hard season.

I would rather Bale at left back.....at least that way he may stay on the left. We need to win the last 4 games and at the moment are far too easy to predict how to play against. Something like Bale at left back would throw our opponents game plans out. Playing 2 of Parker/Sandro/Livermore to cover him bombing forward may work.

Do we really want to take Bale out of our attack and at the same time put our gayest player into our defence ?

We could also put VDV into Kaboul's slot, that would totally bamboozle them. And while we're at it, let's put Adebayor in goal.

Dunno...'Arry has been setting us up to be open at the back (apparently generic people said we are really good when we are open at the back)

BAE hasn't been as good as everyone thinks imo anyway, loses concentration a lot. Rose's tenacity should come in handy and he'll be hungry to prove his worth.

Fuck that - I like it...

Sometimes attack is the best form of defense, especially when you're trying to play you're way of out of trouble a bit. Yeah Bale isn't the best defensively, but we have the added protection of Parker and Sandro...plus Bale starting runs from deep.

We might actually see better decision making in the final third with that line up as well.

Bang on mate, been saying this for some time. Also noted his partnerships with Gallas were terrible but he did well with Dawson. I don't understand why you loan out Bassong (who when signed it was said could play at LB ) and bring in Nelsen, a guy who is just back from a serious injury and is old. IMO you keep Bassong around, give him a chance dpeneding on the form and injuries of others and if he plays well...play him.

And if you don't think Bassong has a future, I don't understand why they waited till deadline day to sell him and buy Cahill.

All the success Harry has had at Spurs has been built on competition for places, thats gone now and you have to blame him because he keeps playing the same players and lets people go on loan when he should put his foot dow if Levy think its worth a few ££
