Its the unfortunate reality that until we actually start winning trophies we aren't going to be thought of as a big club. Thats what matters to these players. We can keep on bragging about the stadium and facilities and all the infrastructure but the trophy cabinet is whats going to be most important.

I'd still throw everything we have at SMS. Lazio are known sellers and he's been racially abused (called a gypsy) by his own fans after a slow start to the season. Guy has all world ability and is the sort of player we need.

This is a guy who refused to be on stand by for the French national squad who just won the WC...because he thought he should have been in the squad...no humility and an ego that makes Ibra look positively humble....file this one under bullet dodged.

No it isn't. Last time Liverpool won a major trophy, most of their current first team were still in primary school. Chelsea were signing big players, despite the fact that they hadn't won the league since the 50s. Man City were signing top players even though they hadn't won a top trophy of any kind since the league cup in 1976.

Players move for many reasons. The most important being money.

Its a long shot but might as well go for it.

I know this isn't common practice. But what about getting Kane or someone like that involved in the recruitment? Like in the NBA it is commonplace for the teams star player to meet the free agents and be involved in pitching them on why they need to come play for the team. Have Kane there on the tour of the stadium, etc. just a thought.

Obviously money can trump that but to act like Liverpool aren't a known big club is foolish. But I agree money & trophies are the top two things but those basically follow each other along.

There isn’t many players I can think of who Poch would like less than this guy. Everything about him as a person is polar opposite from what Poch wants in our squad. He’s good but overrrated and as much as we need a CM I hope we had no interest in him at all, that’s not to mention how his mum comes across. Wherever he goes he’ll be a disastrous signing for that team.
