Best transfer window I can remember for a long time but feels a little odd without some deadline day hopes, (not that I would change it)

Have actually got work done !!

I can't recall the last time I was this relaxed on Transfer Deadline Day. Probably never.
It's because for once there are no holes in the squad. Not just the first team, the squad. Every position is covered with quality players.

This is where we now get to kick on and challenge long term.

Man I hope that you are right
But, I'm a Spurs fan and well I can't get too excited ----yet
I really hope everything goes well and we get something this season and beyond

Even if we couldn't add another center half, this window already worth a lot with 6 quality players in with Bale in it. Skriniar might bring us a lot but pretty sure we can live without him.

It was a big opportunity to bring in a top central defender. If conte gets sacked then we will have missed our opportunity to get him as their next manager will keep him.

Regardless of CB situation, what a window. I mean come on, Gareth f****** Bale is actually back. A striker. Quality full backs and a solid DM. Wow. And everything at reasonable costs. Levy has done it again.

It's of course a real shame if the Skriniar deal is not possible now. I do hope that this one was not the paramount request from Jose, though I'd expect him to be pretty well sated by the offerings we've had this summer.
Onwards and upwards, and anyway, defending is passé.

Pretty sure that he is the main CB JM requested we get. Bale etc. are nice signings but also very opportunistic rather than to fill specific positions.

Honestly, there have been great moves but still a little concerned that the main player we want to fill the gap is still not done on deadline day and looking less and less likely to happen. Oh well. Let's see what happens. We still have a great team and the mindset is getting better.

And we just put an entire fist and a cheeky digit in United without him. BALE BALE BALE.

Still think Levy's got something up his sexy little sleeve.

All these years of bargain hunting and transfer window hijinks and it finally paid off for a change

The last time being...?
I agree. Bale was a gimmee as long as he could pry open his wallet. Usually Levy plays games in the market till deadline day, offering lots of promises, then at the last minute throws an insultingly low offer at the club in the hopes they suddenly became desperate to shift a player they never wanted to lose in the firstplace. Of course, this has screwed us many times so it is about time he got one right since I think fans would have really been calling for his head had we not managed to find the money

By all accounts José is happy with our window, and even if he would have liked Skriniar, it isn't a dealbreaker. ITK has suggested all through the window that José has been realistic with his targets, and Levy has delivered on them to the best of his and the clubs abilities. Personally I'm very happy with our business as well.

As someone else said, the January TW opens in less than 90 days, so it might not be completely out of the question that we revisit Skriniar then, if Conte is still at Inter, and he's not being used.

Not getting Milan isn’t the end of the world.

We got immense quality all around the pitch, and even though Milan would be nice, I’d rather we give that time to Japhet. He is the future of our defense and any game time he gets given between the CB/RB cover the better.

We can always revisit in January if necessary.
