Anyone else thinks that this shows how poor our recruitment was last summer that we wanted three playmakers but didn’t address the holding midfield problem or the rb problem.

I'm probably taking a risk saying this but I always find it convenient that the information always stops short of mentioning what actually happened which is the exact thing that happened with Alderweireld where he supposedly disrespected the club and it's mother to the point where we were told he had to go only for him to be given a whopping new deal.

We were told exactly what happened with Alderweireld, weren't we? He wanted a big contract, Levy said no. Poch went to bat for him, pushing for the big contract, Levy agreed. VdV's contract at Liverpool got revealed, so Toby's agent/father reneged on the agreed contract and demanded more. Poch felt betrayed, he and Toby had a bust up. Poch would walk if Toby got a new contract. No contract for Toby. Poch gets sacked, Toby gets new contract.

I do agree that it's weird how it's taken a year for someone to say it was the agent's meddling that wiped the Dybala deal out, after everyone in the news, as well as at least several ITK, blaming on difficult image rights issues.

Does it? Poch wanted Foyth as right back, Ndombele is different to Lo Celso and especially Dybala who could play alsoas striker or winger. We knew Eriksen was leaving and that was good recruitment

I don't think it's down to the recruitment solely. A big part must be the arrogance of those high up within the club. They must have thought if we made a CL final we don't need much to add to the squad yet they overlooked the fact we lost 13 PL games in that league campaign. The club did show ambition with the spending but didn't address key areas like you mentioned in CDM or RB. At least now we seem to be taking a more pragmatic approach and identifying areas where we need fixed.

Juve are certainly in deep financial trouble - they lost 50m Euros in the six months to the end of December 2019 i.e. before the effects of the epidemic. This was 58m Euros worse than the previous year.

Dont agree, he was prepared to come us, i dont think our season will have impacted that much, we have lamela, lo celso, Gazza and foyth that all know him. I doubt a deal has legs but based on dragons info at least we can put levy not paying the image rights to bed

I'd assume we won't pay what we'd have done last year for Dybala and I know of no reason Juve would accept less so I guess the dragon was speaking retrospectively, shame though.

Dont forget Dybala was one of the first ballers to contract Covid. I wonder if that has had any impact on his fitness levels???

And we are no better off either. So, as much as his agent might be trying to gee up interest via the press, I just can’t see us having the money to afford Dyabla. Sadly that ship sailed.
