I heard about it about an hour ago and apparently its a recent change. Still though, they’re a multi-million business dealing with multi-million pound assets.

Its not a football fan's duty to know a rule like this.

It is a football club's and the people running it

I’m not bothered about the financial implications of terminating Doherty’s contract - could have maybe sold for a fee eventually, but are now saving on wages to a surplus player, so whatever.

The fact we got to this position, however - where we have so many surplus players we can’t even loan them anymore - is utterly, utterly farcical.
