Definitely seems to be the way to make things happen - being friendly with agents and be willing to pay their stupid fees.
Saw a report on twitter yesterday which said Liverpool spent more on agents fees last year than we did on our record signing Davinson Sanchez. Our fees are very much par for the course compared to other teams, we do pay them but clearly we're not willing to pay to that extent.
Ultimately, if there's a player you want, you have to pay up - Liverpool were willing to and got the players they wanted in the summer. It's paid off this season but makes you wonder how often anyone other than City can go out and spend that on agents fees alone. Can't be sustainable.
(possible pinch of salt needed for my suggested timings on what i read, as we haven't actually signed anyone to make agent payments for some fucking time! )
Also helps getting one of the super agents involved in the club at the top level, Wolves were right around the bottom of the table of agents fees paid - because the cheeky little ****s have some hooky deal going on.
