Fair point. I love Dawson's passion for the club. It's just unfortunate that he lacks the ability we need to reach the next level. It makes me think that I've been hoodwinked into equating success with caring. Deep down I know I'd rather have a team of players that care about Spurs as much as Dawson (even if they're not great players), than a bunch of indifferent players that are merely using us as a potential stepping stone for more success/money.
People keep saying this. What is this 'next level' people keep talking about? & how come it's always Dawson who 'can't reach it'? Clearly none if them can reach it, or we'd be there

I love Christian Eriksen because he has so much class and I love Holtby for his passion and determination.

Tim Sherwood makes me dislike the club as a whole though, I felt nothing after we lost yesterday and I haven't watched any after match interviews or highlights for a couple of months.

Was gonna start going to games again when I get my new car but not with Tim in charge.

Dawson. Always have, always will.

Also properly rate Eriksen. 2 years time he'll be breaking hearts joining Real or someone for £40m.

I know what you mean, and I am seriously considering not renewing but that’s as much from a financial perspective as anything. I feel we are really just drifting at the moment and I have no idea who our manager will be next year or which players will stay. I don’t think it’s much of an issue that we don’t have a ‘cult hero’ or mercurial star. It’s a team game and I personally am a big fan of Sandro, Adebayor, Lloris, Walker, Kaboul, Dawson and Lennon. I don’t agree about Sandro just being a loveable gimmick. He was terrific for us for at least 18 months and yes, he has struggled with injury but I am not going to presume he is somehow less the player he was and won’t regain his form and improve. If he didn’t get up to the silly shenanigans on social media (which I do like), I’d still love him as a player.

I just look at this season and find I haven’t really enjoyed most games, and before both yesterday and Everton I almost didn’t fancy going up for the game (for a NLD that is ridiculous and owed slightly to a hangover and 4 hours sleep but still). I actually enjoyed yesterday’s game and our performance, so there is still that love- always will be.

The atmosphere and relationship between the club and fans appear to have soured somewhat. It’s just perception and I have no factual evidence but it seems the stubhub fiasco, ticket prices, the Yid debacle and general attitude of the club has created a gap between the fans and club. This year more than any I have seen opposition fans in the home end and people attending games that don’t seem like fans. They just have the money to pay top dollar for a ‘football experience’ but aren’t Spurs fans, don’t know why Sandro is called the beast, clap when Arsenal score (someone in front of me did that yesterday, great goal but that is intolerable) and very few people around me sing or even cheer the team on.

Something’s definitely up but that redcafe has definitely put things in perspective. I’d just like Sherwood to be given one full season at least to see if he can do well. But I suspect that we will see more change in the summer, and next year will be bemoaning LVG or RDB’s choice of playing Carlos Kickaball as an inverted right winger.

My two favourite (current Spurs players) are out on loan BAE and Holtby. Also anyone who is willing to put a shift in and has ability has my vote. Like Soldado as well, suppose.

Eriksen will be top class with the right positioning on the pitch. Allow him to thrive and you will all love him. Dawson's fight and determination I love. Hugo's rushing out of goal (that header yesterday ). Sandro's character. Ade's fight and drive since returning to the fold (he was running everywhere yesterday trying to get onto long balls). I used to love Jan, but he's turned into a massive sulking twat lately. Kaboul just playing two games in a few days makes me love him even more. I'd say there's a few any of you could easily love.

Although Dawson isn't blessed with loads of ability I'll always respect his effort and commitment levels.

But the ultimate respect goes to players that have the quality and the desire/passion etc.....its why VDV was just so popular.

Crying shame we couldn't of kept him for a few more seasons.

I know this forum got over excited with the comings and goings this summer but for me it ripped the heart out of the club. We need players with identity - those that have been there through good and bad times. Huddlestone, Livermore, Parker, Caulker & Bale all leaving with long serving BAE mean't the soul of dressing room had gone. These guys may not be world beaters but (excluding BAE & Bale) are English and understand what playing for Spurs means. Taking them out of the dressing room and replacing them with 100% foreigners leaves to coherence and continuity of the dressing room spirit decimated.
We need to find our soul. I saw a much more cohesive team fighting for the shirt on Sunday. Shame they can't play with that desire every week.
You didn't see a team with the aforementioned players getting battered 6-0, 0-5, 4-0, 1-5 and 0-3. Just didn't happen.
The same thing happened with Ramos. I always thought AVB was the new Ramos and unfortunately I was right.
Now Defoe has gone meaning another English player out. Shame we haven't got Harry to right the wrongs and bring all the old players back (like he did last time).

VDV was never going to fit in with AVB's death football, it's probably for the best that he left when he did.

I've always loved it when players come through the youth ranks. I remember getting really excited by players like Andy Turner, Scott Houghton and Darren Caskey. Following that, I really liked it when we followed the twin track transfers - invest some in proven quality international players but also invest in good quality English youngsters. We got some exceptional players that way - Lennon, Dawson, Walker and of course Bale to name just a few. I'd like to get back to that.

As such, the only regular first-team players I really have any great affection for at the moment are Dawson, Lennon and Townsend. I rate others but I don't really care about them.

By the way, as for this 'next level' nonsense - when a player has been a regular in a team that has achieved top 4, why do we think they're not at the level to achieve top 4? Anyone remember who created the goal in the San Siro for example? That's right, a player not at the level we want...

I loved them a bit today. Even Sig before he hit the winner. Also helped that it was Soldado up front and not that other bloke.

I have a big man crush on this dude, his skill is amazing. I found him in Fifa 2-3 years ago and I always buy him. He might not be the best rated youngster but I play better with him than many higher rated players. And as usual if I find a player I like I try to follow them in real life, hoping they become as good as on the game. And in Lamela I truly think he'll do just that. So I'm not in love with the fact we haven't seen him this season, but I do love Chiriches, Kaboul, Sandro, Lennon (less so than before), Walker, Paulinho, Holtby & Soldado

Don't want to split hairs mate, but we did get beaten quite badly under Harry a few times, often by worse teams that have beaten us this year.

Semi Finals 15 April 2012 Chelsea N 1 – 5
25 February 2012 Arsenal A 5–2 Saha 4', Adebayor 34' (pen.)
28 August 2011 Manchester City H 1–5 Kaboul 68'
Fourth Round 30 January 2011 Fulham A 4–0 21,829
6 November 2010 Bolton A 4–2 Hutton 79', Pavlyuchenko 87'

The problem is our new potential hero's have only been here a year - given them some time -

VDV was never going to fit in with AVB's death football, it's probably for the best that he left when he did.
But VDV was the kind of player
who had the skill and vision
to transform any kind of football
into something alive and beautiful.
I love Dawson for his spirit
Soldado and Eriksen for their skill
and Walker cos he's off his head.
