Ok i'm going full retard with these theories but how about this one? (break out the creative ratings, strap on your tinfoil hats etc....)

What if willian going to Chelsea was all part of Levy's master plan? what if Bale and Madrid were told he'd be allowed to leave if they both kept quiet and waited for us to get a suitable replacement? and then Levy waited until the last minute (a week prior to window closing) to get close to one.... and then he had info leaked about Willian to Chelsea to stop the transfer? At this point it's almost too late for us to get a solid replacement and as a result would stop the Bale transfer. Could this be Levy's sneaky and elaborate plan to keep Bale for another season (or atleast another half a season)? In this scenario Madrid would have egg on their faces because everyone there thought it was a done deal, Levy would be getting revenge on Madrid for their public tapping up of Bale earlier in the summer, and in Chelsea's eyes they would be preventing/slowing Madrid from getting Bale. Of course we'd come out as winners too because we'd have gareth mother f***ing bale for another season (or half of one). This plan might be a direct result of just having binge watched a whole season of House of Cards on netflix but.... it's an interesting theory i think.

Except Willian isn't out Bale replacement.

Let it go man.

Chelsea gazumped us - There's no 'plan' of Levy's, we just got done at the last minute by a club who can offer higher aspirations and wages.

Accept it and we move onto the next one.

RE Willian..can someone please explain "signed subject to medical" for me, as it seems we did this arse about face!!

We have seen this reference quoted many a time on the OS, on players we have signed in the past, just hope we revert back to this on future dealings.

On this point, would it not be logical for a contract to have a condition of sale if for instance a player doesnt pass a medical??

Any ITK on why this is not the case?

Think our medical team wanted to see whether the 12 inch rumours were true and in reality we had no interest in signing him.

Mind you he's found his home now with that bunch of other massive pricks down the road.

would be easier just to just say he isnt for sale.
but if we had've done that he would've pitched a fit about moving like Modric would have. we'd probably have been forced to sell, and/or his value would've been much, much less. teams with players who are desperate to move don't have nearly as much leverage.

Can I just say that I think people have the wrong end of the stick and are deluded in the extreme if they believe that Bale's sale is in anyway dependent on the purchase of a number of adequate replacement(s). If you look at the information we have it seems pretty clear that Bale will be a Madrid player come the close of the transfer window irrespective of who we sign. DL and co are just trying to soften the blow as much as possible. Come on guys do we really think that if Lamela were to stay at Roma and Eriksen were to go to Liverpool that RM would abandon their pursuit or DL would turn down a world record fee...people need to wake up.

Ah where's the optimistic button!!!?? Tbh, You have to question the wisdom as to why Donna Cullen let Ben know as she surely knew it would go public and why a medical was sanctioned prior to him agreeing terms and that the medical was "allowed" to go public!

You do know that the agent would have been informing chelsea at all stages of the deal. Mourinho doesnt get his ITK from reading this thread or following twitter.

I don't see why it should be so very far fetched to imagine that Levy will pull the plug on any deal if Spurs are unable to sign a replacement of sufficient quality this window.

More conspiracy theories! A&C and Rob are Levy & Lewis, all the ITK's are made up personas that the they have created to control us & hold our obsession through the close season. Willian is Huddlestone after intensive liposuction so we all knew he was gone anyway, BAE was going going to let the cat out of the bag, he's been trying for years (LOL=Levys overlord Lewis) & they can't risk that coming out. He's now over in 'France', like a dead pet that's 'Gone to doggy island'.

I'm not sure where I'm going with this.

If the deal was done, I can't imagine why Madrid wouldn't have announced it.

They're not exactly backward in coming forward.

Madrid are dicks. they would have been mouthing off all day about it, whether we wanted them to or not

Its not done yet im pretty sure of that.
