Regarding the Modric situation I meant in the context when his head was turned and he wanted to leave and the fees weren't finalised.
Lets hope it ends like that did with another season for us.

I have a feeling he will stay for another season. I don't think he'll act in the exact same way modric did after not leaving when he wanted to.

He will knuckle down. Football is their passion; once he gets back in with the lads and he takes the stick etc and bangs his first goal in - He'll be right in his element and happy again. What would be the point of sulking/worrying about something that you can't change until the next summer?

I was careful to say that I think he'll feel deflated, as we know he's the type to sulk. He must already be dreaming of following in his hero's footsteps, being unveiled as the world record signing in front of a packed Bernabeau, playing in the CL again, all that jazz. To then have to all that taken away from you, by forces beyond your control, will have a very negative effect I fear.

It is so embarrassing once the window shuts I wonder if the media will admit it was a clear lie that bale wanted to go and all the stories are fabricated.

as I have always said bale.is staying and real madrid have not got the finances to sign livermore let alone bale.

Modric Round 1 was much worse than the Bale saga from the player's side, he was making comments about Chelski in July and visiting roman on his yacht. So far from Bale he's been injured for 3 weeks, no comments, no visiting of yachts, nothing but silence.

A bit of a silly throwaway line at the end but I'm happy with the sentiment.

Selling Bale after this week would be completely ridiculous. We need 9 points from our first three matches and he needs to at least feature against Swansea onward. Even if he stays, ill be very upset if he sits out the Arsenal game waiting for a deadline day move.

True, but Bale is fast becoming a global brand - something Modric never was or will be.

This is all going a little Akqayid tbh. Even Stevie Wonder can see that Bale wants to go to Madrid.

Dont want to claim JJ is wrong on the Modric situation first time round with Chelsea, but perhaps misinformed. With Modric no fees were even close to being finalised because Levy flat out refused to sell to Chelsea and was never going to sell to Chelsea.

I however he is referring to this same scenario then it can only be good news, as if this is the case and Levy has made his mind up he won't sell this season, then he won't pure and simple.

^ meant to quote EJWT's post

Joking aside, he'd improve Pool's midfield. Exactly the kind of leadership the Villa dressing room needs, imo. I'd think he'll have a fair few offers tbh.

I think LLM means Bale is happy to stay and won't kick up a fuss, I can't fathom him NOT wanting to join Madrid.
That's the thing - nobody should be questioning his loyalty or the fact that he wants to go to Madrid as whether we like it or not, it's a huge step up in his career.

But, that's not meaning to say he can't achieve a great deal with us - both as a player and through marketing himself as a brand.
