This theoretical money being spent on players like Soldado, Coentrao must have a link to the itk news that Joe has put in £50 million to spend after the Paulinho money. On a positive spin this could all be about us fulfilling Bales ambitions and this would keep him with us for this season.....Praying that is the case!!

I feel the opposite. I think he's been massively underrated whilst at RM.

At the 2010 World Cup he was arguably one of the best players at the tournament. Playing at left back for most of the games iirc.

At Madrid he's played virtually everywhere.But has certainly never really nailed down a spot.

An ideal age, most probably a AVB favourite. He'd be a fantastic addition IMO.

I guess depending how much Madrid want bale we could call in a couple of 'favours' this year. Sure it will end up with us being over a barrel eventually but...

Yep unlucky enough to be behind marcelo in mourinhos pecking order otherwise not a chance we'd be getting him IMO

If he could be signed he would terrorise the prem!! His pace is much better suited to here anyway!

Yeah I really don't rate him, on TV or in the flesh. He's not a good defender at all, which you can get away with to an extent playing for Real Madrid. I think a lot of people would be disappointed and are falling in love with the exotic foreign footballer rather than the real world.

The reason we haven't announced any contract extension for Bale despite numerous itk saying one was all sorted, could well be to create the illusion with Madrid he is gettable and have it as leverage in any negotiations regarding us buying their players

For the record, Naughton was the LB we had last year that cared if we won or lost.

Is Coentrao an actual LB or more a wingback? My worry is that he'll be too attacking if he plays LB.
