Reading the latest ITK regarding Parker, if he doesn't end up at QPR (who i reckon have the money to pay his salary) i think it's going to be hard to shift him to a PL side at his age and with his current wage demands? Would Levy be prepared to buy out his contract in order to move him on?

Newcastle could possibly afford him but then again Parker doesn't speak French so he's fucked for that move too.

Maybe chadli is plan B to Bernard and we dont want to commit until we know Bernie is ungettable?

Think this is a logical viewpoint. Also, maybe we know of the other clubs that are interested and Chadli prefers us and may only want to join us. Seeing our training ground most likely sealed that. That, and we've got a pretty decent need for a LF, Chadli can fill that void and we've got Gareth Bale. Who wouldn't want to be part of that?

All this ITK excitement is playing havoc with my blood pressure. My doctor has advised me to restrict my viewing to 20 minute periods. I told him I would be lucky to see a post, let alone a ITK post. I have settled for twice a day, Two 12 hour sessions.

Maybe but if AVB is not getting the players he wants he is not going to stick around I hope this is the scenario and as I said I'm not going to jump to conclusions as I don't know the truth but I do worry about our transfer policy

I have to believe Danny boy has it all up his sleeve or AVB may be regretting turning down PSG, this i think is why im staying cool calm and very not wrist slitty.

Yep. Levy needs to push the boat out if he wants to keep AVB. To be fair, he's brought in Baldini, signed Paulinho, and by the looks of things he's got Bale to stay at least one more season, but I'm not sure that's enough so far.

This is a bit reactionary.
Villas-Boas has a contract, seemingly a good working relationship within the club & with the chairman and no obvious substantial reason to want to change his working environment.
He's also gonna be under few illusions as to what kind of budget we're working with. He's been here a year, so he's unlikely to ask for Hulk and sulk when he doesn't arrive.

Your list of good things are all likely to enhance his contentment within the club, and I'd imagine that the addition of Baldini may well have balanced up the influences on transfer strategy.

Things at the club seem to be more settled now than I can ever remember, and the problems with transfers don't reflect internal conflicts, more the difficulties in improving a team that consistently operates towards the top of the table but without a CL budget.

AVB is a winner. Left a winning club in Porto to try and win more with Chelsea. Clubs with more money have already sniffed him out (PSG). He may be loyal enough to give us one or two more years, but if we don't give him what he needs to win, he is going to leave in my opinion.

I don't think it's reactionary. I think it's just the way it is. Listen to the rhetoric from AVB. It's about ”promises” and ”assurances” from Levy.

AVB is trying to rebuild his rep, and now that he's popular again he wants guarantees that he won't be left with an unbalanced team and a disappointing pair of strikers.

I think that from the off, AVB new (or was told) that until we have a new stadium and sponsors to help finance bigger targets that we are very much a "B" list transfer target club. I don't think i need to say anymore than that. The Modic's, VDV's and Paulinho's type deals come around but a handful of times a decade and we have been lucky this far in the transfer market in my opinion. Even if we had the zillions at our disposal would that really make the chase as exciting as it currently is each transfer window?

To me for Spurs to unearth a gem or two and seeing them develope gives me more satisfaction than just going out and taking a punt on the finished product. Ballotelli, Tevez and Suarez are the perfect example of that one i think

He ain't going anywhere soon though is he?

We've made one cracking signing and are presumably working on more. Better that than hoovering up ok players for £4-5m just to flesh out the squad. You've got to take things year on year. Everyone is invested in staying this year and the level of success this season will define the next and so on.

Unlikely though it may be if we were mid table at Christmas, would we even want to retain Andre?
We aren't lucky to have him, it's a working relationship and his job is to do the best with the tools given to him. If he were to fail with us his reputation would be shot, so it's in everyone's interests to succeed & nowhere do I see Andre being hampered in his desire to shape the squad.

As ever, post transfer window is the time to reflect, but I still retain a lot of hope, regardless of whether we sign a raft of players or make a couple of signings in key areas, which seems to be our strategy. Quality over quantity.

Parker is a good player, old yep but very effective. He's a natural leader and a benefit to any side he plays for. I don't even really care for the sideways passing he will always get in to the opposition's face.

I'm sure its not only just QPR that fancy him

Not for us he's not. No denying he was literally 'perfect' for what the ex manager wanted but, and it's a big BUT, he slows us down now, stops all counter attacks, runs into blind alleys, and Pirhouetes like an extra from Black Swan. We've moved on, he can't keep up, so it's time for 'thanks & goodbye'..
