Anyway, I think what the Goat WOULD have posted is this:

The Goat has been informed that the talk in Barcelona is that we are very close to agreeing the deal and it is expected at Barca that Villa will join us after the Confederations Cup.

I take issue with that. Oddie's 'Steve' cryptic was much less cryptic. People were solving it before he finished pressing the 'post now' button. :(

Ah yeah! I completely forgot about 'Steve' that was horrendous! Ok, that was the worst... this one tags in a little behind that (I'm not gonna lie to you, there's not much in it!)

You had me stumped A&C. I have no clue about Olympic songs. I would have been here all day with it. (y)

Hang on, there's something going on here...

An international tournament, signing playerS (potentially) ... Didn't Levy always say that was a no-go?
To be fair pretty sure we approached these BEFORE the tournament began, so we are not signing them based on their performances in this event.

I don't get it. So, are we signing Cabaye or not?

through his successful loans spells at MK Dons, Bournemouth, and Millwall....he's proven he can play at those levels. Like Caulker and Walker its time for him to get a chance to be in the squad for us next season.

There is a big difference between that and being ready to play in the prem, every bodies development is different.

I didn't get the cryptic, I read it as we were going to sell Ryan Mason (Mason/ maison) after the Confeds (don't know why we'd wait). So, basically, I'm an idiot.

But the problem is that, are we really the buyer of the house? Or the Violet? Cannot imply it from the cryptic....

So we're going to sign players early, that fit into the managers preferred system, and then get rid of the platers who are surplus to requirements.

That sounds weirdly like an actual transfer policy. Something must be wrong. Don't Boas & Baldini know we're Spurs and that's NOT how we do things.

Yes lets judge him on a couple of games last season when he was pitched in when undoubtedly very rusty after sitting on the bench all season.

Remember when Assou Ekotto initially struggled, then improved?
Remember when Kaboul had a lot to learn, went away, came back, fans had misgivings but he had grown up and become a much more consistent, and very good centreback?
Remember when it wasn't happening for Bale for whatever reason, until a couple of seasons in it clicked?

That's a pretty lazy argument based on very little evidence. He has done as much as he can do on loan to deserve a chance to compete at left back and with more games under his belt now at left back I'd be staggered if he hasn't improved. Luke Shaw has a lot to learn still himself.

Everyone has an opinion but let's see if you say that if he gets a chance to play for us...
On the other players you mentioned they all showed potential just needed to improve certain things IMO(lets not even start on bale taling flak!) in kabouls case ot was concentration and still is sometimes, and IMO rose shows no potential...
