I really cannot see why we would spend actual money to sign Willian. So underwhelming. Just saw Wigan accepted a bid of £9 million for Moses. If we are paying anything even close to that for Willian I'll be furious.

I hope there is truth to the Damiao stories though.
why will you be so exaggerated by Willian? watch a lot of Shakhtar and decided he's crap? Personally i think it's best to put the faith in a manager who spent his off time scouting players and watching games. The price is the price, there is no 'worth' - it's on contract terms, selling club's desire to keep and buying club's determination to sign. It costs what it costs. The club won't spend it if they don't have it.

Is anyone hear not pessimistic about Willian? Unfair to slate the kid before we've PROPERLY seen him.

But I am with the general consensus as to whether he is good enough and worth the punt at 20 million :/

Really hope we sign both. But I'm not confident DL will sanction £35m-40m. Unless we announce the sale of modric tomorrow.

Am I the only one not convinced by Willian especially for £20million

I think we're getting him for significantly less. Think about how much Levy gnashes his teeth over big transfers there is no way that this would have come together this quickly if it was 20 million. There have been tons of talk about when Willian's contract ends and never really a satisfactory answer. My guess is his contract is up soon and we got him for around 10-15 million.

I would rather spend some of the Modric money on a straight positional replacement if i'm honest, then the rest on Leandro.

I agree that the club has to make these kinds of decisions, but bear in mind that we already have Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon, with players such as VDV and GDS somewhat able to step into their roles as backup.

I cannot fathom why we would spend £20 million on a player that at best would be backup to Bale and Lennon. I would think that getting a suitable replacement for Modric or a second striker would be much more important than buying a player that, at least in my opinion, is incredibly overpriced and overhyped.

I've no idea about the first part, but the second part is not right - it's been pointed out on this thread a few times that the development fee doesn't apply to overseas clubs. So Standard won't have paid any fee to United.

Accidentally gave a 'dumb' rating. Now removed. I would never rate anyone's post 'dumb'. Sorry Benny if I caused you any angst.

at least you said it is all in your opinion.

I don't see VDV sticking around into September and GDS is wasting himself at Spurs. So, those two out and Willian - who will actually play - in.. good idea, no?

The post talks about a second striker, that #9 we've been linked to since Noah had bumfluff..what's his name.. really I don't feel there's much to complain about here. Moses is not the player you want him to be and he's going to Chelsea to train and sit on the bench.

Just cos you're the only one posting such stuff doesn't mean you're the only one with an understanding / interest in it. I'm using CBT right now. Probably best for a new thread tho - as it's not really ITK but what you perceive. :)

what i perceive - yes. not an academic - yes.
but let's say, replace me with a real life "carl lightman" or "ria torres", and i bet the itk is far more accurate than 80% of the stuff we read about on here.
and since we are encouraged to take itk with a pinch of salt anyway, i just thought that this could be an interesting slant on itk discussion.

anyway, i just had a quick look and found avb's interview after the liverpool friendly in the usa, talking about charlie's adam's tackle on bale and the previous one against la galaxy where he talked about bale's rafa's and kyle's injuries... and i think i can say quite definitively now...

that everything avb said about willian and leandro in the aforementioned interview is bull.

Let's say yes, for arguments sake. Is a league awful 'cos you don't watch it?

The Ukrainian Premier League is ranked as Europes 19th best league. You're quite right in thinking I don't watch the UPL but I've seen Willian in both EL and CL.

Perhaps you can't see VDV staying, but he's clearly a much better player, and Willian would still be backup to Lennon and Bale. Anyway, enough OT from me.

I reckon the latin quote is about Llorente. He's certainly the big signing we've been chasing for a while now, and he's Spanish to boot. Soon we will hear the lion roar.

Yep i've convinced myself it's really happening.

Would be interesting to know if The Championship is one of those 18 leagues ahead of it...
