Not entirely convinced he can dictate play quite as well, but he certainly is superb on the ball. I think a 4-3-3 might help Moutinho if we sign him

Just watching the highlights of the 2008/09 season on ESPN classic. This transfer window cannot be as much of a disaster as that one.

In fact seeing how far we've come since then makes a mockery of anyone whinging about the club now.

Have the ITKs gone to sleep for the night?

When you are talking about the Modric replacement just think about what kind of player Luka is. Hi isn`t the one who score the goals or make the last passes. He is a player the help the team to build up the game and hold the temo of the game. A bit like Pirlo or Xabi Alonso. And i think Moutinho would fit just great there in the middle for us, hold the ball and with his technique and skillfullness take pressure of other players. One thing that worries me a bit is that he is verry thin and can have some problems to adjust straigt away. But if we get him i would be very happy

Ah, yes. 'When Juande gets his own team together' went the refrain (forgetting that the squad he'd inherited was supposed to be ready to challenge for a top four spot). But we did have lots of ITK.

How many of our 2008 signings will survive this window, I wonder?

Basically a good looking version. Pretty sure I can say that without being gay.

Personally I think Moutinho if he comes will be a better player for us because he would want to be here and because AVB can set up a team tactically. I'm positive that HR didn't get the best there is to get out of Modric due to his "go out and kick it about" philosophy. In that Spain game, Modric played better than I've seen him play for us last season. I'm sure under Mourinho he will flourish to a level we didn't see here.
