had to lol at this... give him a new contract and the captains armband.... hes a tryer....

Don't think I mentioned either a new contract or captain's armband. What I was getting at was Crouch puts himself about, causes a nuisance, keeps the opp defences occupied & is pretty useful at defending set pieces, as well as trying to score the odd goal. In comparison to some strikers who offer nothing but goals.

david beckham could play for free fella...he is a 20 time over millionaire....maybe even more...

the lad wants the prem & in a top team...not money

Well, yes, there is that, but it's all the connections that come with the contract. It's just not a case of a simple wage.

Fingers crossed, because I think Beckham joining this club would be massive for us.

He's only going to be any use at all if we sign a striker to get on the end of his deliveries.

Defoe thrives off balls through on the ground.
Crouch is rubbish in the air.

I suppose I can see Pav linking okay with him. Possibly. Probably not though.

I may email Harry and suggest we might need a CF. Do you think he knows?

He'll never sign for more than the 2 months, when his contract runs out at Galaxy he has the option of forming a new MLS franchise.

Apparently Tim Sherwood gave an interview on Al Jazeera sports and said the following (from ZiN on glory glory):

"Straight from Tim Sherwood on Al Jazeera Sports. We have tried for Rossi in the past and are keeping an eye on his availability but he's a £20m+ player now.

Bentley's career has gone stale so we need to get him playing games, looking like Birmingham on loan but if anyone wants to buy him he's available but he will be expensive for any prospective suitors, if he impresses for Birmingham then Spurs will be happy to have him back for next season but the idea is for him to be in the shop window for Birmingham or anyone else to buy outright.

Made an enquiry for Lassana Diarra. Concerns within the club that he walks out on clubs, apparently Harry has said he would be have no problem getting 18 months out of him and then he walks out as he rates him that highly."

option being the operative word!

Yeh I hope he doesn't take up the option and signs for us for 2 years, but setting up his own MLS side some where, where his family are based ect must be a big pull for him.

Why the fuck would Sherwood be spouting off stuff like this, that the club clearly wouldn't want to be making public?

Smacks of BS translation to me....

Why would we want Beckham for longer? He is past it.

I can't believe how much people get sucked in by the media hype. Beckham WAS a great player now he is just living on past glories.

I find that very hard to believe, and I'm usually up for believing anything.

Why the fuckery ding dong would we want the 36 yo poodle for two years ? I don't want him for two months let alone 2 years.

What I horrible thought.
He's actually 35, turns 36 in May. He's 1 and a half years younger than Giggs.

Harry deserves our faith.

Real Madrid

Manchester United

AC Milan

Why do people automatically exclude someone who has a '3' at the start of their age; the guy is fit as as a fiddle and a genius at set pieces and corners and will raise the profile of the club ten-fold internationally.

He also has the most marketable face on the planet.

This is a big move from the club in financial and performance terms.

What Real Madrid, manU and AC MIlan got to do with us ? It's not the "3" that's the problem it's the "3" with the "6" together with a player who was never that great, his one trick was selling shirts, and buying one now would be as stupid as wearing flares with your Fila BJ in 1981.
