Would expect wholesale changes here so my stab at a lineup would be;

Cudicini/Gomes

Smith Dawson Caulker Naughton

Jenas Huddlestone Carroll

Townsend Lancaster Falque

Wouldn't actually expect Lloris to start this one away in Carlisle with a side that won't be representative of the first team he will be playing behind.

Hopefully Nuaghton will be fit otherwise there will be another reshuffle with perhaps Townsend pushed back and also, it's debateable whether some players coming back to fitness like Adebayor and Parker will feature in some guise but all I know it will be extremely difficult to guess AVB's lineup!

I definitely expect Lloris to start, he's new to football in this country - so on that basis alone I expect him to play.

That side or similar is fine, hoping Ade gets a run out though - or better yet starts. Would love to see him back in the side for the United game.

I read on twitter last night that Carroll has tendonitis. I have no idea what it is but he was telling a team mate he has it

Tendonitis in your knee (assuming it's his knee) can become a big time nagging injury. The best thing for it is rest and some light rehab work. If not given the right amount of time for the inflammation to alleviate itself and allowing it to build back strength, you really are at risk of it simply coming back as bad as it was before.

I just have a feeling that Lloris won't start as subliminally, this is is sending out the message that you are a second stringer - maybe I'm wrong but just how I would tackle it.

Lots depend on the fitness of players and I wouldn't necessarily rule out Sigurdsson and Dempsey playing either.

I think Mason, Falque, Dawson, Caulker, Townsend, and Smith are locks to make the starting XI.

I'd love to see Pritchard get a shot to start as he looks to be one of the most talented young fellas that we have.

If Naughton's healthy he should get the nod, but other than that I think it's all guesswork.

You could be right mate, personally I would expect him to play - and I want him in our starting eleven sooner rather than later.

Wouldn't be surprised if Sig starts, I think Dempsey will start in his place against United.

Going to this one, cant wait, was at this fixture the last time we played them in the League Cup back in the late 90s !

..........................Lloris............................
Smith........Dawson..Caulker.......Naughton
................Livermore.Hudd......................
Townsend............Sig...............Pritchard
....................Adebayor..........................

Hoping for something like that. Don't know what Naughton situation is, nor Parker, Carroll. Could be re jigged abit to fit in Dempsey or one or two others. Like the idea of Parrett if he is fit currently ?

He will be first choice soon enough and I'm sure even Brad knows this.

If we assume that we intend to start against United with the players who began the second half against QPR, and that we don't want the players likely those players schlepping up to Carlisle, and that none of our injured recover in time, which means we are without Gomes, Naugton, BA-E, Kaboul, Parker, Livermore, Jenas, Adebayor, Lancaster, and apparently Carroll, the line-up would be something like:

Lloris
Smith Dawson Hall Byrne
Siggiurdsson Huddlestone Mason
Falque Obika Townsend
Subs; Cuducini Stewart Veljkovoc Parrett Pritchard Ceballos Coulibaly
That team looks fairly horrible, though everyone in the starting line-up has at least played at the level of our opponents. Even so if none of the injured make it back for the game, I reckon three or four first teamers will be drafted in, maybe Walker, Caulker and one of Defoe or Demspey.

Wouldn't make it too scrappy. Some changes yes, but it is a decent chance to go to wembley.

Are Livermore, Naughton and Adebayor back? If so:

---------------Lloris-------------------
Smith--Dawson(C)-Caulker--Naughton
------------Hudd----Livermore---------
---------------Dempsey-----------------
Townsend------Ade-----------Falque-

It's 5 subs isn't it?
Subs:
Cudicini, Carroll, Mason, Bale, Defoe

Id expect there to be a lot of rotation for this match, Cudicini or Gomes could do with a game but Lloris also needs games so I think he has to play. I think 10 of the team is pretty easy to select, something like:
Lloris
Smith Dawson Caulker Naughton
Jenas Hudd
Mason Sigurdsson Townsend
Filling the striker position is tricky though. I think Defoe needs to be wrapped up in cotton wool as he is the only one fit. If Ade is available I'd give him an hour or so. If not then I dont know the other options, Dempsey? Obika?

4 - 3 - 3 for me,

Townsend - Obika - Falque
Mason ----- Sig
Huddlestone
Naughton - Caulker - Dawson - Smith
Lloris
Ade on bench if fit, the bring him on later in the game. Would like a strong bench too as I would like to go very in this comp too.

Not sure about a strong bench; do we want to send first team players up to Carlisle just to spectate, when we have such a big game coming up where we need them to be at their very sharpest?
