Given our exemplary record in semi finals I am not in the slightest bit concerned about tonight's game and I'm absolutely certain that nothing untoward will come to pass
Our last three League Cup semi finals have been quite poor regarding performances.
2008 vs Burnley - under Redknapp
Beat them 4-1 in the first leg but then completely didn't turn up for the second leg thinking it was over and ended up losing 3-0 - if there was away goal we'd have been out. Fortunately, Pav and Defoe came on to score key goals.
2015 vs Sheff Utd - under Poch
Poor first leg but managed to win 1-0. Went up 1-0 in the first half and then didn't really trouble the League One side too much until they put the shits up us and scored twice in 3 mins to make it 2-2 on aggregate. Fortunately, Eriksen scored to kill it. But another lacklustre performance.
2018/19 vs Chelsea - under Poch
Started the first leg really well, yet didn't play greatly and Chelsea had the better chances. Second leg we started really poorly and went two-down quite quickly. Responded late but lost on pens.
As you can see we make a bit of a meal of these occasions and don't like to do things simply, even when we get a nice cushion/advantage.
Hopefully, Jose can influence the game in a professional and commanding perspective to ensure we do the job well.
Let's hope we mirror the second leg vs Arsenal in 2008.
I dreamt last night we won 5-2 .Had a weird dream last night that both teams played in fancy dress and I couldn't work out who the hell was who
Actually one of my favorite cup memories was the FA Cup against Saints, 2-2 at full time and then rampant in extra time to make it 6-2I dreamt last night we won 5-2 .
This is one of the reasons why Jose is at the club, to bring occasions like this on a regular basis and turn us into winners starting tonight. Our last three League Cup semi finals have been quite poor regarding performances.

Yeah, the second leg I do kinda feel was an unfair occasion. But we still didn't put up as strong a performance as we needed at home. Granted, it was Chelsea.IIRC both Son and Kane missed the second leg and Lucas was on the bench. We were completely reliant on Llorente!
This might not mean much to you lot. The fear of two lockdown birthdays is real (April). I turn 30 this year and on top of societal pressure to have your life sorted by that milestone I may have to deal with another lockdown? That's why the final that Sunday is vital to me. My birthday is the 23rd (Friday) and so Spurs need to give me something to be excited about.
Again that might not mean anything to you guys, but I have very little to be excited for currently.

It's probably because the Colchester loss is quite recent that it feels like a more regular occurrence. Some of the performances against lower league teams have been extremely dire in recent years though, with Kane and other key players being subbed on to turn things around - as has happened in a few Europa League games this season. We’ve lost one game to lower league opposition since 2013 (Colchester last year).
I can live with Sanchez I think but really wanted to see Bergwijn over Lucas.
