Wow so in the last 13 games if a goal was scored it was never first by us? Wow

No, we have scored first, but when we have we have won with out conceding.

The last 16 games:
Won- 7
Drawn - 3
Lost - 6

Scored first - 2
Everton 2-0 and Brighton 1-0

And I'll tell you what I'm sick of mate, managers not being given the time and resources to build a squad in their image, and the same rinse and repeat mentality of fans that the answer to poor performances has to be down to the coach, so sack him. You sound just like those many thousands of Arsenal fans who for three seasons have been calling for Arteta to go because he was clueless and now he's been given the time and funding sits top of the league.

If we want to win things we have to change our mentality, that's the board, the players and the supporters. We've gotten nowhere over the last few years chopping and changing managers with the same old rinse and repeat approach. I don't want another season of uncertainty and experimentation to find out who is good enough and who isn't.
Just thought with all the tripe spouted in this thread, this post needs a bump!

Well that's how the world works so don't hire a manager that needs to change whole squad to perform. About a time to take note on that. But we won't, naturally. Because owners think you can pick right manager merely by looking at their trophy cabinet. That is what I'm sick of.

It isn't a decent result. They're a solid mid-table team. We're a Champions League team. Of course it's never going to be easy but we can never call this a decent result. It only feels a bit like that because we played so badly but if we continue to draw with teams in the bottom half we'll fall like a stone.
Brentford aren’t in the bottom half

I was as critical as everyone else 2 summers ago when we fired Jose and spent months dicking around for the next guy, but we are where we are. We can't change all the stupid decisions that have lead us to this point but we can certainly stop making the same mistakes over and again.

Having seen the highlights, am I alone in thinking Lloris would probably have prevented both of their goals, but would also probably let in the one Forster saved with his feet from (I think) a corner in the first half?

If Mee doesn't impede Kane it's an easy header from 3 feet out.
Ridiculous decision and truly awful from VAR not to ask the ref to look again.
Why on Earth would Kane go down easy in that situation. He's done Mee cold
Not sure where the ref was positioned e=when he made the call. Maybe from his angle it looked like a tangle.....BUT from another angle it showed MEE had no eyes for the ball, and obstructed KANE,
The view the ref had was not what really happened

Exactly. Which is why VAR has to ask the ref to look at the their view.

Not mentioned by the pundits on MOTD. go figure

I'm not sure what Forster could have done differently with the first goal! He was going the right way it deflected and he managed to block it but unfortunately couldn't get enough to stop it going to the forward.

Some people on this thread should listen and take note of what Evra just said to Conte in that post match interview.

Also shows that the idea that Conte is just going to walk at the end of the season if we dont win silverware is laughable. The man is a winner but he will stay if properly backed, he genuinely has an affection for our club (he must be mad lol)
agree he will stay if properly backed, but I do not trust ENIC or DL to do that, we will know by the end of Jan.

And it also sends a message to the squad, potential signings that the coach is the main man.

Far too often, we hit bad form and dissenting voices are allowed to grow and it's a matter of time before the coach is gone. As you say, rinse repeat.

The best thing we can hope for, yet unrealistic, is for the club to drop big money, for example, on Gvardiol and Porro or two big targets that Conte wants.

This is the only way IMO to stop doubt, to get Conte to sign on and to motivate everyone at the club.

If the club are targetting cheaper options or 3rd or 4th rate options then it won't do enough to quell Conte's doubts or the dissenting voices and we'll be back looking for a coach in the summer and I'm quite frankly tired of that.

I want the club to stick to a plan and double down on it.

Go get Conte his big targets and then get him signed on so we at least remove all doubt and we know where we are heading.

Basically said that Conte has a challenge changing the players, tactics and mainly the mentality at Spurs and deserves respect and time to do so
And that'll never change if we half ass everything.

For example, one summer window hasn't been anywhere near enough to satisfy what Conte needs. It was merely a start.

If Levy thought a couple of windows was enough then he's blinded.

Conte wants serious backing all the way, don't try to make him compromise or short change him in anyway, don't climb down from assurances. You have to go all in with a coach like that.

Also, lessons at Arsenal.

Arteta wanted to make Aubameyang captain. It didn't work out but he wasn't fired.

Arteta wanted to keep Saliba away from the team and get mature. Arsenal struggled in the meantime and Arteta wasn't fired.

Arteta spent 50m on Partey but didn't see much of a change immediately in performances. He wasn't fired and was allowed to keep spending.

Arteta wanted to get rid of Aubameyang depsite making him captain and despite the lack of goals. Form suffered yet he still wasn't fired.

The message here is clear. They back him no matter what. It gives confidence to the coach that he is in total control and can build a dressing room devoted to him.

Conte should be allowed to make some mistakes along the way and we should put up with poor performances or spells in games until he's got pretty much everything the way he wants it.

If the club are in doubt or don't wish to stretch that far, then there's zero point continuing.

I thought son looked pretty decent today actually. He was direct, got involved. Took Kulu ages to get into the game at all. Was excellent once he did though.
Really. I didnt see it. He was invisible in the first half. And a little more active in the second. But the guy has not been great this year. He is a step slower and a smidge weaker. No idea why. But I would trust a fit Richarlison over him right now.
