shout out to the the 2 lads in front of us in 515, who seemed to be willing a forest goal at the end. they were due to win 3.5k for 3-1, kane to score first… they left before the penalty save (too nervous) but then saw them on the way out looking jubilant. they’d watched the penalty from the stairs and looked like they were about to get right on it for the evening!

Well I can't recall whom, but I did read at least a couple of you were taking children/grandchildren to their first game yesterday.

Hope you all enjoyed the experience and created a great memory.
Yep my grandson had a great day, a big fat burger with bacon a new scarf and a comfy win.
On the way down I asked him what the score will be, he said Spurs will win 3-1 Kane will score two and Son will score one! I'm going to start putting money on his predictions from now on.😊

Looking for a few tips for Cheltenham if you could ask the wee fella. :D

Glad you had a great day. Gonna take my grandaughter next season.

On my way back down to Devon after seeing the game yesterday. That was more like it, I thought the approach was far better with Son getting into the game on the scoresheet and the interchanging between Kane & Richie down the middle was noticeable.

Watching Kane live is such a privilege not just with his goals but also his ability to switch play with long range passes in an instant.

Ben Davies & Pedro Porro were excellent on the flanks, however, I feel there’s more of a player in Porro yet to be unlocked.

Foster has done a great job since Hugo’s injury and up close he looks so chilled and composed: potential cult hero perhaps?

With the one game a week schedule we can replicate the end of last season surely. That’s 4 PL home wins in a row. I’ll be there for the Brighton and Bournemouth games next month.

One of my moments of being at the game was this man yesterday: what a character. COYS

There were so many kids there yesterday it seemed, many more than usual. Guess it’s the silver lining when so many tickets are put on the exchange.

Very droll.
I wasn't making a joke, it was a serious question. Forest nearly fell apart as a club 25 years ago (overextended with debt, the usual story) and spent a couple of decades knocking around aimlessly in the Championship. Despite several flirtations with promotion, they never succeeded.

Finally, after a quarter of a century, they clawed their way into the Premiership, where they are threatening to survive for a second season. The football is exciting, disorganised and chaotic, but the club is on its feet and competing, with a number of talented young players on the pitch.

It just seemed an odd suggestion that Forest have "fallen", just at the moment where they are back where a well-run mid-sized club should expect to be competing in 21c football.

He has to want to stay. If he's all in then we should be - the problem is I've never once sensed he's all in
The fact you've never once sensed he's all in is not a problem at all. He says the club understands his position. If the board and the team feel he's all in, there's no problem.

"if"
I've had the impression not all the team don't feel that recently.

Sure, but that's your impression, just like the point I was making was it was DarwinSpurs' sense. Neither of which have anything to do with the state of the club. Let's just let things pan out, see if he stays or not, see if we can start playing more watchable footy with a more settled starting 11 finding a bit of form, etc. etc.

I know it's only Forrest but there were definitely some tweaks in how we attacked that I enjoyed and that worked well. We've seen all season that if you stop Kane you stop Spurs and a lot of teams were preparing for this well and stopping the supply into him. However in this game it felt like Kane basically had a free role and could roam where he liked and with Richalrison regularly moving into the CF position and with Son providing the width on the left it felt like all the forwards were given roles that suited them but in a more fluid and unpredictable set up.

I also thought the players were much braver in switching the play and took on far more riskier long passes out to the wings. Perisic has been poor and is a bit of a one trick pony with his crossing and Emerson just isn't a threat from the wide position. Having Son and Porro provide the width gave us way more ball carrying and threat from these areas. Very rarely has it felt like we have had both wings functioning well at the same time during a game but both these areas had a nice balance with Davies in a more supporting WB role with Son and Porro having more license to attack from the right.

Far bigger tests to come and Forrest were atrocious but it felt much more fluid than recent performances with everyone given roles that suited their strengths.
