Come on guys, remember one player doesn't make a football team. I'd love us to get Barry but don't think he will come to us, but we have to trust harry to get a better midfielder in cos he must know who we want and need. There are better players out there then Barry and i think that Harry will find them and bring them to spurs.

You mean like Manure could do nothing when they wanted the sulky Bulgarian???

I think its slightly different being chased by the then european champions and league champions. Were a slightly different kettle of fish, but I do see your point.

good luck to barry, if that's where he wants to play his football next season then fair play to him. He has give a great service to villa and deserves to take his pick just a shame it's not us.

So City would be playing?

--------------Striker

Robinhio----Ireland------SWP
-------Barry-------De Jong

Bridge Kompany Richards RB

------------Given

Not bad at all... but shouldn't be a threat unless they learn how to play away from home...

Oh, and who the crap is their RB?! I can't for the life of me remember?

De Jong will play alongside Barry and when they play 4-5-1 Ireland there too. Kompany will move to CB as that was what was said when he signed.

I guess going with their current squad plus Barry they could look to line up this way:

Given

Richards Onuahab (sp) Dunne / Kompany Bridge

Wright-Phillips Ireland De Jong Barry

Boijonov Robinho

Unless the plan is to continue playing Robinho in a wider left role but that seems a waste.

Also, I'd have thought they would be looking for a new left winger if they don't think Petrov is up to it anymore but I guess having Barry there would give a bit of steel to balance the flair...

I'm very interested to see the price.

They paid 16m for de Jong rater than wait until now and get him for free (and what has he achieved for them in that time?), so I reckon they've gone to at least 15m for Barry. Which is a figure I wouldn't have been comfortable with us paying. I bet Levy wouldn't be either.

The good news is that while Citeh may be bigger challengers this season, with no Barry or Laursen, Villa will struggle to be up there. Maybe that's why they felt they need the cash.

Zabaletta (sp) although he was playing more in midfield in the latter part of the season and Richards was pushed back out to right back with Onuaha (sp) coming back into the middle and making a good impression on Hughes.

I suspect that Villa will start negotiating at the £18m that they asked Liverpool for last year.

Stuff him, it shows that he is only interested in money, if that is his true motivation in life as opposed to playing for his boyhood idols for 10k or so less a week then he is not the sort of player we need

With 1 year left on his contract ? I think that would be wishful thinking on their part.

This is Citeh we're talking about.

If Lerner has sense, he'll say something along the lines of: "So, Mr billionaire oil magnate that wants my star player, how much money do you propose to give me in addition to giving me Micah Richards, Vincent Kompany and Bojinov?" and take it from there.

Yeah I know its City, but for me its either Villa accept their bid, or its well we'll sign another star and agree with your client that he will sign for us next season for free and give him a nice hand out to put up with playing for you for another season.

Now Newcastle have gone down Citeh have become my most hated club on our level.

Come on Barry, show you're not just another money-grabbing cock-gobbler, come home to Spurs wse need you!

Lennon The Beast Barry Modric

That's a champions league midfield right there, add that to our outstanding back 5 and I'd say all we need is upgrade on pav and bent and we'll be flying next season.

If you're gonna call him a cock-gobbler, he's not going to want to come here. You have to wait until he signs for someone else.
