I'd say Reina or a fit Gerrard.

Suarez is a good player (eventhough he is a complete twat), but he is no where near being in the top 2 PL strikers.

Rooney, Aguero, Ade, Ba, RvP just to mention a few are all better.

Adebayor is not better than Suarez.

I obviously disagree, might have my WHL-goggles on though.

They're different players and in some aspects, like dribbling, Suarez is better. Neither of them are clinical finishers but Adebayor has probably converted more chances this season. Suarez has more pace, but Adebayor is tall, strong, can hold up the ball and his work rate is just great, while Suarez is a whiny diving cheat.

Adebayor is not better than Suarez.

Says who? That is your opinion but there will be plenty who disagree with that. Adebayor has done more in his career, has played at a higher level, has won things, scores more goals at the top level and contributes more to the team with his hold up play, working the channels and interchange with the midfielders around him.

Suarez has a certain flashiness and footwork which Adebayor is never going to have but I don't think he is making enough of a difference to the Liverpool side. He is definitely well over-hyped both by fans and the media.

Media influence can really be the only reason that Suarez is included in this list and in fact I'm surprised not to see Jose Enrique in that side the amount of love he gets from the media.

If Suarez stayed on his feet more and got control of his temper, he'd be one of the best in the league. As it stands, he spends half his team getting to know the pitches around the country rather than the back of the goal. His record in Holland was amazing but there tends to be a lot of strikers who play in Holland with similar records. I am starting to think I should move to Holland and just become a striker. International level he is also very impressive and I would suspect he and Cavani will have a lot of good years together for Uruguay who could become a major force in International football with those two leading the line.

Now onto the Premier League, from the games I have watched him, he is a poor mans Tevez. Not a bad thing I guess but 9 goals in 29 games for Liverpool in the league? Is that a return you would want from a striker you bought from Ajax who got 80 goals in 110 games? No. Lets compare with Van der Vaart, 13 goals in 28 league games for us last season and 7 in 17 this season, from a amf/2nd striker role. Aguero currently has 14 in 19 for Man City. Now the reason I compare with both of these, is because these are two players who SHOULD be in the team of year for the Premier League, despite Aguero only being here for 6 months he has been excellent.

As for Adebayor not being better than Suarez, well in his first season with City before they decided to stockpile strikers for fun, he got 14 goals in 26 games. This season with us he has 9 in 15 so far I believe? So it depends on what value you hold with a striker, I'd say goals:wink:So Adebayor is at the moment a better player than Suarez because he is providing goals AND assists.

A lot of people will say "but any striker would score that many for us with the chances we create", er Crouch? Pav? Also the argument of "Suarez is playing in a poor Liverpool side" well they are 6th in the table, Newcastle are behind them and Ba has 15 goals. If Suarez was the striker everyone seems to make out he is, then he SHOULD be among the top scorers in the league and trying to lift the Liverpool team. I believe he has 5 goals and 1 assist in the league this season. Bellamy has 4 goals and has played 1/3 the time Suarez has.

/Rant over

Don't get me wrong, I like Suarez...in a Uruguay shirt when he was winning me money at the World Cup:razz:
