city needs a big name trainer before they can be taken seriously by the rest of europe, i'm sorry but their current coach just don't cut it.

Apart from Robinho they are not really going too crazy at the moment. Until they get CL they will not get the Kaka's, Ribery's or Zlatan's of this world. Bridge, Barry, Given and Bellamy all EPL proven. If they get Joorabchian's play thing, Carlos Tevez then they know he is proven in the EPL as well but is also a high profile player. Chelski were lucky they were in the CL when Roman took over allowing them to buy Crespo, Mutu, Makelele etc.

chelsea were in a better position than manchester city were when roman took over. they already had big players and well known trainers like gullit, vialli etc. and most importantly they've won some big trophies during that era.

We now face it -- 92k a week, who could blame him for taking care of his last big contract? He's 28 and this is a payday no one could pass up. Would you?

Best of luck to him. Not that it really matters, but I don't think he'd make Spurs a top 4 team, but he's definitely wealthy now. A bird in hand...

Yeah, but he could've spent a final year at Villa then gone to Liverpool or the scum or even United for free and earnt similar. This move makes no sense to me.
