We have Udogie coming next year, who has by far the best talent IMO. He has everything we are looking for and I hope to see him and Spence dominating the wings next season.
Ah yes I forgot about him, he is perfect.
Him and Spence bombing up and down will be like when we had Rose and Walker, makes a huge difference to a 3atb system.

Perisic is still class but not quite 100% hit his full form yet.

Sessegnon has the ability to be a big player for us. Getting him and Spence in gear at the same time could kick the team on a bit.

But I don't think it's as simple as just throwing them in. Players sometimes take a while to start really showing consistency and their quality, even Bale took a while...........Fingers crossed they both kick on. Time will tell.

and maybe getting Bryan ON the gear wouldn’t be the worst idea

GIl looked so lightweight.

I can see why Conte hasn't given him any minutes.
Yeah.

The other issue is that he doesn't really fit the style.

He is very much a short, quick passer in a team where players ate close together.

We often play longer passes.

One instance he got the ball in a very promising attack with space in front of him and 2 runners off him. Kane was to his left and close to him.

His instinct was to play a quick pass to Kane. Except that slowed the entire attack down and Kane lost the ball.

He needed to play it out in front to either Sonny or Emerson (I think it was him). But because his style his short incisive passing he didn't do that.

I can't see him ever being a part of Conte's team so may be better off going out on-loan until the next coach comes in

kane needs a rest. His general play and workate has been terrible the past few matches. If Harry's on song the front 3 click
The difficulty with Kane is that it can be hard to know if he needs a rest ot if he just needs time to get into gear.

We've often had moments in a season where he looks 'leggy' and people day he needs a rest, then a week later he puts in a MOM performance and goes on a run.

At the same time, he has always been a slow starter. He didnt use to score in August and would often take 5 or 6 games before he really clicks.

I actually thought he got better as the game went on and his link up play was a bit quicker. Still not hitting those defence splitting long passes yet but he looked better until he tired at the end.

I agree, but he made the right choice not passing to Emerson.....

Everyone knew at the start of the season that we still need to sign a RWB, an AM and ideally a CB.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that we occasionally come up short in these areas.

CB looks less urgent now that Lenglet is showing signs of quality - much to the shock of the Mystic Megs on here who declared him unsuitable for Spurs and said he’d never get a game.

Emerson’s ban gives other players a chance to claim the RWB spot. But in reality it’s still a position we need to strengthen.

We’d lost every away European game going back 2 years or something ridiculous until last night. Frankfurt are one of the tougher opponents we’ve faced in the last year, to the extent that many on here informed us beforehand we would be losing the match (Same people who are now declaring it a disgrace that we didn’t win, I note)

Providing we can keep grinding out results until the World Cup, we’ll be absolutely fine. Much to the dismay of the tiny but vocal pack of bedsheet soilers on here.

Wolfsberger 20/21 Season - Feb 2021 was our last away win. Followed by D.Zagreb and elimination in the EL

21/22 We played in the ECL - 4 away games, Pacos De Ferreira (L) Vitesse (L) Rennes (D) and Mura (L) before being eliminated on the walkover/covid stunt.

Seems like a lifetime ago.

I think Gil is maybe a bit unlucky that he's trying to fill in for Kulusevski who is like a tank who bounces defenders off him and barges his way forward. I doubt Gil will get any more opportunities before being loaned out or sold in January now because Conte, imo, was brutal towards him when he got knocked off the ball v Frankfurt.

This is a good point. Conte's system demands physicality as the attack is based on transitions rather than possession and movement. Its about having players who can win the physical duel and then release a team mate into space.

As much as I like Gil he just isn't going to win many physical duels.
