Therefore he may be also right with Spence
The difference is he has seen Gil play a few times last season but he has never played Spence so I don't know how he can tell that Spence is "not ready". Training is nothing like the real thing, he deserves at least a couple of games the trouble is we know Conte is a very stubborn guy and doesn't like to be told what to do and as Spence was not his choice he's unlikely to get any game time unless there are injuries to Emerson and Docherty. Even then he's more likely to move over Perisic or someone else rather than play Spence. I feel sorry for the boy as it can't do his confidence any good.

Away in CL vs Europa league winners having more possession we have to be content
Lets not forget they have lost their best player (3 goals and 6 assists in the EL last season). Also, they only won 2 home games in the EL last season (and only 1 clean sheet), it was their away form that got them to the final.

kane needs a rest. His general play and workate has been terrible the past few matches. If Harry's on song the front 3 click

ZERO shots on target.

If this was any other manager ….
It was hardly the manger’s fault we didn’t have a shot in target. The forwards didn’t take their chances. We could and should have been 2 or 3 goals to the good in the first 30 minutes.

This match demonstrated what many have been saying for while. There’s nothing wrong with the system, there’s nothing wrong with the 2 in midfield or the defense it’s simply that the attack is not functioning. The front 3 were dreadful tonight.
The quality of passing and ball control would have embarrassed a League Two side. I lost count of the number of times I asked who that pass was for!
Find it hard to understand why he doesn’t swap Son and Richarlison over?Son can play just as well from the right and Richarlison is so much more effective from the left? More Conte stubbornness as is his reluctance to use the midfield substitutes, rest Kane or give Spence, or Doherty a run out at RWB.
We seem to be cursed with stubborn inflexible managers.

Apparently not many players were to bothered to acknolwledge their own travelling fans last night.. only Kane, Dier, Benta, Sess, & Son clapped them at the end...

Edit; Hugo also..

I personally think CL is a tad above Richarlison's level, and I don't think it would matter. Son has lost form dramatically, it's definitely a mental block with him right now. Kane... bloke's not been the same since his failed transfer.

They were also on a 3 game winning streak, and beat the top of the table Union Berlin last weekend.

But let's ignore the positives

I think teams have focused on closing him down as he’s such a big part of our build up and it’s working.

This is where the extra quality of somebody like Kulu comes into play as it gives us an extra attacking threat. Sonny & Richy are both having to do things in the middle 3rd and not getting into dangerous positions in the final 3rd.

Can’t remember any real clear chances we created as we’re not moving the ball quickly with inventive passing and just look very predictable / easy to defend against.

He wasn't forced to sign for the club. Spence is a talented championship defender, and must have known he wasn't Contes choice.

I don't understand using last seasons form as a way of nullifying any sort of positivity, that 'lets not forget' stuff whilst pretty much irrelevant also conveniently swerves the fact that we qualified for the CL by the skin of our teeth and other teams poor results. So not only do we get treated to 'Lets not forget' the Frankfurt side of things but our side of the coin is ignored. I don't wonder why :D

Everyone knew at the start of the season that we still need to sign a RWB, an AM and ideally a CB.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that we occasionally come up short in these areas.

CB looks less urgent now that Lenglet is showing signs of quality - much to the shock of the Mystic Megs on here who declared him unsuitable for Spurs and said he’d never get a game.

Emerson’s ban gives other players a chance to claim the RWB spot. But in reality it’s still a position we need to strengthen.

We’d lost every away European game going back 2 years or something ridiculous until last night. Frankfurt are one of the tougher opponents we’ve faced in the last year, to the extent that many on here informed us beforehand we would be losing the match (Same people who are now declaring it a disgrace that we didn’t win, I note)

Providing we can keep grinding out results until the World Cup, we’ll be absolutely fine. Much to the dismay of the tiny but vocal pack of bedsheet soilers on here.

The positive poster brought up last seasons form (mentioning EL winners), i was just pointing out it was their away form that got them to the final.

We are Spurs fans so our side of the coin is well known.

Wow 3 games, incredible.
Silly response. It isnt about the number of games.

I will make it simple for you

You do understand about form, and confidence?

It's quite an important element of football. Hence why no game is truly comparable.

You always have to remember that there are certain posters (and indeed mods) who struggle with the concept that Spurs fans have different opinions....on a discussion forum. It appears to be splitting the atom stuff to them that some people are unhappy when we're losing (and I guess by definition, happy when we win?).
