Does anyone still rate Walker?

He's seems to be going backwards. He needs a spell out of the team. Shame none of the backups are experienced enough.

I think he is decent, good on his days. But we need to sign a new starting RB in the summer that is for sure.

Basic defending is a big problem, the amount of goals conceded tells us that, I think Fazio coming into the team ahead of Vertonghen should be his next move and if Walker needs a rest Chiriches can cover.

Don't know what's wrong with him. His game is getting steadily worse. Never seen him so poor as today. Should be rested and put in the junior teams as an overaged player and try to get his confidence back.

Not the player he was before his injury, i would accept anything over 10m in the summer

That was as bad an individual performance as I've seen from someone all season. Worrying how quickly he's regressing. I'd seriously consider putting Chiriches in, that's how bad today was !

What's the story with this guy yedlin? He was great in the world cup.
I think we need to regard him as a work in progress and an investment in the future. Plenty of technique, ridiculous speed, but still needs to learn his positioning etc. I'd expect him to be out on loan to a decent Championship club next season.

Re the OP, I don't remember ever seeing that number of neg reps before lol. :D

Phil Neville has just called him out for his 'defending' in the last 2 matches.
Sorry, but if we're serious about CL for next season he needs replacing. Its school-boy defending and if his pace ever goes he will be an absolute liabilty week after week.

Neville feels he's at fault for the first goal at United and two goals today. Although I have to say I thought Vertonghen was the weak link for the third goal we conceded today. Just had to head the ball away with a bit of conviction.

But Walker's positioning and concentration levels are clearly way off at the moment and he's making poor decisions.

Hopefully will improve when regains some confidence.

I've always thought he was poor. No footballing brain. Poor positioning, no end product when going forward. IMO just a very poor footballer. An athlete yes but never should be a footballer. IMO it amazes me he plays professionally tbh.

Know I'm in the minority and for some reason he is rated by a lot of spurs fans and even recently been linked to Man U for £20m!! So maybe it's just be but I really think he's crap after today's appalling performance I was wondering if anyone actually still rates him?!
I have the same view of Kyle walker, I think he's a poor footballer. For me he's a classic example of English football's archaic approach to youth football (although I think that this has started to change) . Kyle is an athlete who is strong , quick and will die for it on the pitch; good attributes to have and ones that were picked up early. But it's not enough at this level, it's often these attributes that get him out of trouble which so often he is the cause of.
This is due to his complete lack of a footballing brain, he just doesn't seem to read the game at all, going forward or defending. I think we should sell him because he's highly overvalued, it's frightening he's in the England squad when you consider other rb's who aren't.

Is your first paragraph about Yedlin or walker? Hilarious, but you could apply that description to walker too!

I was just about to write the exact same thing, is no one taking walker to one side in training and telling him where to stand in certain situations? Who is our defensive coach cos they need replacing, I've played left and right back to a decent standard and week in week out I look at walker and rose and can see straight away that their positioning is all wrong at least 80% of the time!!

i keep thinking of the 'Full Monty' back-four routine.....the number of times that Walker steps out to play offside and gets on the wrong side of the player hes marking is ridiculous.
I think it confirms that leadership and communcation in the back four isnt what it should be.

Can't believe its taken two years for people to see this. He was good when he was fearless. For about 5 months...and he's been petrified ever since...
