Theres no way our strikers are the worst. They fired us into the champions league last year so they can't be that bad. The problem is Defoe just can't score at the moment and Crouch just isn't a goal scoring forward anyway. Pav I actually feel sorry for....give him a run in the team and he will score. We'll probably sell him to Newcastle in the summer and he'll get 20 goals for them next year.

Misfiring and, in certain cases, not getting sufficient/cosistent game time :)shifty:), rather than plum awful.
Crouchy would be okay as an option if the other strikers were prolific - but we all knew/know he goes on lengthy barren spells, and will never be prolific himself.
JD - injured and lost confidence just when it looked like he would step up a level (hat-trick for England). Still time and ability to save our season if he gets his mojo back quick. Have to admit, however, that credence has been added to the opinion that he's a bit of a flat-track bully.
Pav...Pav...Super Pav. 'Arry needs to unleash him, and then, if he fails, sell him, as he's surley not a worse option as a regular starter than Crouchy (in the prolific sscoring stakes).

What is interesting, as I mentioned earlier in the season, is that last season there was a large body of opinion that we had the best striking options in the EPL. This year they have become an albatross around our necks...how'd that 'appen?

To put this piss poor performance as a striker in context, the following players have all scored more premier league goals than him this season:

Ryan Nelson, John Terry, Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ciaran Clark, Brede Hangeland, Branislav Ivanovic, Robert Huth, Seamus Coleman, Christopher Samba, Nemanja Vidic.

Yes they are all defenders! Eek

Oi!

Kenny Miller - 4
Emmanual Villa - 3
Rob Earnshaw - 1

That takes some beating.

So, Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch have seven games left to score one goal between them in order not to be officially the all-time shittest second and third team goalscorers in Premier League history.

I'll be honest, I don't fancy their chances.

I have to say that surely in these desperate times where our strikers can't seem to score we should give one of our promising youngsters a chance to shine.

Would be fooking amazing if we brought Kane back and he scored 5 goals between now and the end of the season clinching us a top4 finish!!
