harry obviously rates him highly, he forced Gallas out to right fullback and put Woody in front of goals

good to see him back, so happy for him

If he can stay healthy him and Gallas at the back would be tough to beat. Hard on Dawson but Gallas has more pace and makes less rash decisions so would choose Gallas over him every time. When King ever gets healthy this central defense is surely the deepest in the world?

Even City and their billions don't have the riches of talent we have in central defense right now. Our 6th central defenseman is Bassong, who when played regularly is very good and would play in most Prem sides has got to be better than most teams 3rd defenseman, that is just out of this world.

With Caulker at no 7. An embarrassment of riches if they were all fit at the same time but when was the last time that happened?

It trully is remarkable that through all those injuries, we brought on Modric, Woodgate and Kranjcar. 2 world class players and a very good player

Did you hear Ray last night:

"Oh, the shot took a deflection off Woodgate's backside. Welcome back Jonathan..."

What made it even more impressive is, he came on when Milan had a free kick, and he ran into the box, turned around, the ball came in, and it was he headed it away. Immense.

I posted in another thread how pleased I was to see Woody back and for the time he was on the pitch, he was really effective playing alongside Daws.

Hope he can now stay injury free because he is a real asset in our defence.

If he can play then he will be a great asset, especially given our troubles at centre back

Brilliant seeing him back on the pitch in this game. I also thought his career was finished. If only he had had done whatever it was that cured him, months ago!

If he is fit enough he should be in the side as is superior to both Dawson and Gallas.

Harsh on them too, but Woodgate has always been a classy centre back, going back to his Leeds days I thought he was fantastic and was elated when we got him.

Two of my Leeds United mates who were with me at the time, were delighted to see Woodgate back in action.

I think it would be excellent to have woody and ledley on the bench and in and around the match day squad. Having them as subs will allow Dawson and Gallas to continue their partnership and would mean the team wouldn't be relying on their fitness which would cause distruption

And we still have Kaboul and Bassong!!!!!!!!

A fit Woody is a must starter ahead of Dawson, Gallas and Kaboul. I Fear though, that he's off at the end of the season when his contract expires.

If he proves his fitness I hope we tie him up on a new deal fast!

I wonder whether Khumalo now thinks that he has joined the wrong club.

I think, after this season, King will probably retire and Bassong may be sold.

I am pretty sure Woodgate will be released.

It will be impossible to keep

Bassong
Woodgate
Dawson
Gallas
King
Khumalo
Kaboul

Enough game time to keep them all happy. Kaboul/Bassong/Khumalo are all 24 which is an age that they should be playing regularly so we can't fob them off with you're get your chance in the future line. Don't forget the incredible Caulk(er) is also coming through aswell.

King will retire. Bassong will probably want to leave. Woody, Gallas, Dawson, Kaboul and Khumalo is a pretty good stable of CBs.

I don't think King will retire.

I will bet money that Woodgate will leave the club before King retires.

If the club want him, he will stay. Only an absolute arsehole would walk out on us after all the support we have given him, he is also settled down here.

I guess it is up to how much he plays until the summer.
