Which Spurs Striker Would You Choose?

If you could have any of our previous strikers up front, who would you choose?

Greaves no question! but I would love a Gilzean or Klinnsman instead of Dempsey, and a Chivers or Berbatov instead of Adebayor, and a Allen or Lineker instead of Defoe. In fact I would probably swap what we have now for any three of the ones above and I'd let you choose!

You think? ;) :D

Personally , I cannot understand why anyone would not vote for Greavsie

I never seen him play but its well known he was out best ever player and the stats don't lie

But as some have pointed out, he may not fit our current system. The question is not "Who is the best Spurs striker of all time" it's who would you choose to play in our current team.

By some accounts Greaves would struggle up top on his own.

I never saw Greaves, whilst my dad rhapsodises about him, I just feel that Klinsmann would work beautifully infront of Bale, Lennon and Holtby. He loved crosses into the box, could link up the play, and was a ghost that defenders couldn't stay close to.

For me he would have been playing for one of the mega clubs if he was around to day. £40m+/- depending on age at time.

Levy would be treating JG the same as Bale and the price could be more - simply up there with and one of (the) Best.

Don't think the drink would have played such a big part in his/their lives today either more importantly.

Ha one player I wish had of been a Spurs player is George Best. His grace and ability is what Spurs are all about. Totally agree it's a shame that alcohal ruined a career much to early, very similar to Gaza and I'm sorry to say it but I can see Gaza going the same way.

Sad to think we could concieivably have had Berbatov back this season. We would have been the absolute business.

how the fuck do you spell concievably?

You've answered your own question. Because in reality alot of us never actually saw him play.

I saw Klinsmann.. And wow. That man was a goal machine. So Klinsmann for me

And also.. I think a few players could be in the frame for best ever in all honesty. Hoddle and Gazza to name 2.

Klinsmann for me , Im not old enough to of seen Greaves play live but Jurgen was truly a world class player, he would of scored about 40 goals a season playing in this side unlike the poor one he played in.

Has to be greaves based on everything I have read and heard about him but from my lifetime it would be lineker- he may be a bit annoying now but he was one hell of a forward. 67 goals in 105 games for us , however greaves got 220 in 321 (proper legend) :)

i went Teddy as best recent example of a striker that could hold the ball up, and thus play up front on his own.
On pure goalscoring stats alone of course it would be Greavsie.....

Very tough, greaves without doubt would be devastating receiving the service Bale and Lennon would provide, but then again so would Klinsman, the two together would be phenomenal, and we would win the league!

The cost of the two of them in today's market would be insane

The answer is almost certainly Greaves but I can't really comment on him. Of the others, surprisingly I think I would take Berbatov.

The way Berbatov is playing for Fulham at the moment, I can see us trying to bring him in for next season.

Can we not just put cliff jones on the left wing and move bale up front-now that would be special!

Never saw Grieves play, unfortunately. Had I, I guess I would have chosen him. :)
