What the pundits & media are saying about us

I think sports punditry is at an all time low and would even go as far to say the industry is dead. There was a time when there were a few main stream media journalists worth taking notice of but those days are long gone. I reckon their current hit rate is around 0.5% with transfers and their opinions should be given the same amount of respect. You only have to watch Sunday supplement to realise how clueless they are.

The best pundits aren't on TV any more, they're mostly on podcasts.

Tottenham Hotspur

Last season - Fourth

This season - Third

It was a strange pre-season for Spurs with some discontented utterances from manager Mauricio Pochettino, including a suggestion of a change of job title to coach because of a lack of influence over transfers.

This, however, is still a club and a team in fine shape.

Tanguy Ndombele, a club record signing at £53.8m from Lyon, could prove an outstanding midfield addition to a team packed with quality and with the power to add before the deadline.

Spurs reached the Champions League final last season, which will have whetted the appetite, and are now at home in a magnificent new stadium and will challenge this season.

The title? No - let's not forget they lost 13 league games last season - but top three and time to end Pochettino's wait for a trophy.

Now it gets difficult.

I almost forgot we lost 13 games last season. We were so lucky to finish 4th.

We did fall off towards the end of last season, whether that was because of tiredness or whatever. But we were lucky that Arsenal were so shocking at the end too.

However we are a much better team than Arsenal and Chelsea at the moment. We were never really outplayed last season, losses were mainly due to lethargic performances.

So with that in mind it should not be too difficult to turn many of those defeats into wins. I expect us to increase our points tally by at least 16 points this season, which I would think could definately put us right in the mix for second and who knows even more.

Berbatov really needs to shut his mouth. Sneaky fuck acted up for the five minutes he was here and he’s pretty vocal in last few weeks, all of it negative.

Maybe he is as sly as he looks!

That man is nowhere near a legend of this club.

He doesn't seem to realise or care how ridiculous he sounds, spouting off about how HK will have to leave Spurs to achieve something from his career. The points he makes lose all credibility when it's revealed that this "legend" is now having to prostitute himself as a "media ambasador" for a betting company. Classy!
