I wonder what the pundits will be saying when we really click into gear and really start playing well!!

they say about our best 11, yes after the Chelsea game that looked like our best 11 but before that when did Son last score and Eriksen was looking very tired and short on ideas and some people saying he needed to be dropped, were as Lamela and Moura have been scoring regularly, its just great how things are working out at the moment and long may it continue. COYS

Not to mention playing Sissoko while Dembele is out, Aurrier while Trippier is out, Davies while Rose is out/of form, but yeah, we only have (at best) 11 decent players.

They surely must cotton on soon mustn't they? They have been pretty unanimous in the idea that we haven't been at our best yet they still don't seen to have made the connection with us being third up there with the two best teams in the world, it's like a mental block with some/most of them.

Theirs will not be as bad as you think as they have recouped a lot through sales ... Suarez and Coutinho alone made them £200M.

And they sold Torres to Chelsea for £50 million and Sterling to City for £44 million + addons.

There aren't too many pundits and ex-players who talk any real sense but I guess we all have our favourites and pet-hates. Personally my favourite has to be Gary Neville and my nomination for The Ultimate Twat has to be Dean Saunders. For many years, I always thought he was an idiot but when I heard him talking, he confirmed it. Neville at least gives us a great deal of credit for all the fantastic work we've done (Manager, coaching staff and players...) and has said openly how much he loves watching us play, which is great.

He's also not afraid to 'call us out' when we don't get things done very well, which is fine by me as all his criticisms are constructive.

Saunders on the other hand bores me to death by being unable to say anything about us without mentioning we haven't won anything and that all our best players will soon want to leave us for better prospects. Never a word about his beloved Liverpool mind even though they're in the same boat as we are regarding recent trophies.

I've always hated him the little shit, but that's just me.

It's about form and fitness (and why yuo need a deep squad). Eriksen and Son both had crazy summers and no real pre-season. Eriksen then had a persistent abdominal injury,a nd Son the Asian games. By comparison, Moura and Lamela (and Sissoko) had nice summers, a full pre-season and were used fairly sparingly last year, so were very fresh.

Ultimately it is about player management and Poch and his team (especially Jesus) are properly on top of it. We are very lucky.
100% this

It’s a fantastic squad being managed by a fantastic manager and his coaching staff, it’s just lacks 1-2 top class players and then we’ll be right up there it’s man.city, for me that is: LB,CM,ST. Unrealistic but if we had say:
LB: Marcelo
CM: Modric
ST: Zaha to rotate with Kane and front 3

We’d be not only right up there with man.city but with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern etc etc. We are so so close to being at the very top table.

That simply cannot be true because if that were true that would make them a selling club and I have never ever heard a pundit call them a selling club.

Spot on lol!

The soccer Saturday team have far too much of a Liverpool / Arsenal bias, they need to freshen them up.

I don't think you could freshen charlie Nicholas up with 5 litres of domestos and a industrial box of brillo pads if I'm being honest.

The ‘Spurs have a small squad’ rhetoric is stupid. If we take the likely team v Arsenal (basically the same asChelsea but with Vertonghen in), then the team not playing looks like this:

Gazzaniga
Trippier Foyth Sanchez Rose
Wanyama
Winks Dembele
Lamela ____________ Lucas
Llorente

Sick of everytime we win all the talk diverts to all our stars and Poch leaving .
Everytime we win its all about us now having to win a trophy.
Fuck off and start giving us credit for how we keep winning without spending and without a home ground.

Lamela and Moura are 'worse' players or rather less effective. I love Moura but id go for the players in form in which case that would have been Son and Eriksen. There would have been no guarantees we would have scored but the momentum from the Chelsea game shouldnt be understated.

I agree with fitness, which like you say we know not a lot about, but im going on the basis of the info we have to hand and it seems like they are fit. Lets not forget, Son and Eriksen havent played much recently partly due to injuries so i would hazard a guess theyre relatively fit.

Anyways as mentioned, maybe because I was like really nervous as the game dragged on that im now thinking this way. I think Eriksen is integral to our game and that was evident when he came on. Lamela I do rate but when he plays we dont really keep the ball al that well.
Let’s not forget that before the international break Lamela was one of the players of the season so far, his goals winning us 3 or 4 games. Until Chelsea, Son hasnt so far been pulling up any trees and likewise Eriksen has had a slow start to the season where Moura has looked our best player on multiple occasions so mixing it up like Poch did was purely managing his smallish squad the best he can, and he did it to great effect! Massive respect

I see Sky Sports are banging on about Salah going to Barca or Madrid again. Plus the whole they need to win something bollocks.

I thought they only say that about Kane & Spurs?

What ****s, such two faced, fickle, agenda switching fourflushing ****s
