We are incredibly vulnerable. Don't think we've done enough business. A couple of injuries to key players and we look really thin again. Nothing on the bench really apart from Richarlison and wing back cover.
Just want to state that I don't mean in this match, the performance is good. I'm talking about the next few months. Squad doesn't look particularly strong with injuries to key players.

Based on this half I can see why bentancur and peh are our first choice midfield.

Bentancur especially seems to be the one midfielder we have who has a bit of guile and creativity about him. Think he's one of our most important players.

Check his goals / assists stats compared to PEH

Bissouma looks a bit nervous. First touch a bit loose and a couple of dodgy passes. He needs to settle into the team.

Not much has happened really. They've sat back and defended their half of the pitch, we've shuffled it around the defence. Rinse and repeat. Had two or three decent counter opportunities, and made one pay.

Only times we've been in bother have been through our own sloppy play like turning it over under zero pressure in our own half. Bissouma especially has had several brainfart moments.

Second half you think they'll come out and engage a bit more and give it a proper go, we've got to expect it and match it. Hopefully more space to counter into though.

Officiating a mixed bag so far, thought the penalty shout did hit him in the face but his arms are in a stupid position anyway if it then does go onto them. How has Rice escaped a card at the end there, dear oh dear.

Alright so far, but I think we'll need more.

I'm pleased we're not under the kosh and as fragmented as the last few games. Can't rest on our laurels, though. We have to keep pushing for the 2nd goal. I'd get Skipp on for Bissouma to give us more bite in the midfield.

Scammaca is out with illness I think. We need to keep doing what we are doing and take any chances that come our way. Pressure is on Wham to get back into the game so hopefully we can pick them off on the break.
Yeah, that’s the glory game alright…

bissouma's looked pretty ropey in all of his outings so far, even in pre-season. i'm sure he'll prove to be a good signing but he needs to step it up a bit.

5 minutes of added time at the end of the first half is....unusual
VAR time!
We completely controlled the tempo of the game before and after the goal but especially afterwards, killed it completely as a contest.
West Ham will have to step up in the second half, I can see them playing for free kicks and corners big time this half.

I’m very pleased with that half tbh, to go away to West Ham that hate us evening game and the crowd up for it, we’ve looked very much in control to me, more of the ball than others 1st halves and I like how we are set up when we get in front

He was playing well until his yellow card.

Probably needs more match fitness too.
