What's scarier is that Levy and his cronies believed, to the point of putting it in black and white on the Official Site, that our current squad (minus Woody, Gilberto and Gunter) could deliver CL footy.

Personally, I thought we'd finish 5th again. But a lot of us Yids were definitely predicting a top-4 finish, too.:-|

Either his or mine, whichever one you don't believe, read the other next. After that, see a shrink.

 (God i hope he gets it this time).
I might ask Danny to visit him in person if that doesnt work.

From the first team squad here is what I think will happen and why:

Robbo - Gone. Ramos clearly doesn't rate him and for good reason based on this season.
Cerny - Probably gone. Reckon Alnwick will step up as the number 2.
Alnwick - Hopefully deemed good enough to be the backup.

Chimbonda - Gone. Seems to have a bit of an attitude problem and Hutton is better.
Hutton - Stay. Quality signing.
Gunter - Havn't seen enough of him to make too many decisions but he'll probably stay as backup right back.
Stalteri - Gone.

Lee - Gone. I rate him but Ramos clearly doesn't. Can't see him staying.
Bale - Stay. Hopefully will get fit and carry on where he left off.
Gilberto - No idea what's going on with him but presumably he will stay.
Ekotto - Probably gone as Bale and Gilberto should have the left side covered.

King - Stay unless he retires.
Woody - Stay. Legend.
Gardner - Gone...nuff said.
Rocha - Gone. Ramos clearly doesn't rate him at all.
Kaboul - Probably gone. Although he's only had one season he looks awful and I think Ramos may agree based on his reluctance to pick him.
Dawson - Probably gone. Seems to have lost his way.

Lennon - Probably stay. Unless we need to sell him to raise funds I presume he'll stay. Needs to buck his ideas up though.
Taarabt - Probably stay. Too soon to dismiss him at this stage but again needs to improve massively.
Malbranque - Stay. Quality this season and good as a squad player if not in the first team.

JJ - Who knows? Good enough to stay but seems to be doing his best to play himself out of the club at the moment.
Zokora - Probably stay...but only as backup. Wouldn't be sad to see him go.
O'Hara - Probably gone. Don't think he's off the required quality and with players coming in there'll be no room for him.
Hudd - Probably stay. Good to have on the bench for when we need to attack. Not good enough to start though.
Tainio - Probably gone. Much as I love him I reckon he'll be moved on to make way for some new blood.
Ghaly - Gone...and good riddance.
Boateng - Probably stay. Hasn't settled but Ramos wanted him at Sevilla so can't see him getting rid just yet.

Berba - Probably gone. Sorry chaps...just can't see him staying.
Keane - Stays....legend.
Bent - Stays unless we bring in a load of new strikers. I think Ramos should be able to see his strengths.

So that will leave a hell of a lot of space in the squad to fill...and hopefully a hell of a lot of money to sort it out.

Cerny, Stalteri, Lee, Gardner, Rocha and Ghaly clearly do not feature in Ramos plans.

Alnwick, Kaboul, Boateng and Tainio will also probably be moved on, as will senior reserves such as Mills, Daniels, McKenna and Barcham.

Robinson and Chimbonda have pi$$ed on their chips, but going depends on our valuation being met.

Jenas and Lennon have until the end of the season to win Ramos over, otherwise we might be prepared to listen to offers.

Dawson and Bent will go if we get an acceptable offer, which we probably will. We might also listen to offers for Huddlestone.

Taarabt will stay unless he is a silly boy and kicks up about not gtting first team football.

Assou-Ekottu will stay at least until he is fit.

Gilberto is shaping up to be the new Danny Murphy, but I cannot see him going just yet.

Woogate, Hutton and O'Hara are Ramos' boys and are going nowhere. Nor obviously is Robbie Keane. Bale is another one to keep, and Zokora and Malbranque are also likely to stay.

If they are not sent out on loan, we will be seeing more of Gunter, Dervite, Archibald-Henville and Rose next season.

We are all praying that King will play a part next season, and the club will do all it can to keep Berbatov.

With O'Hara, Ramos has clearly been impressed by his attitude and versatility. I think he has a chance of developing into a Ramos-style disciplined CM: breaking up the play, and passing it quickly and simply.

But in addition, under UEFA regulations, it's very important for clubs to have players who are both nationals of the club's country and who have come through their Academies. Ledley King fits the bill. Jamie O'Hara is the only other first-teamer who does.

So, for both footballing and UEFA political reasons, I'm pretty sure that Jamie O'Hara will be staying at Spurs.

We clearly shouldn't be selling any of our players under the age of about 23, as they're all still young enough to develop the potential we've seen into real consistent talent. None of them will be on expensive contracts either.

It would be insanity to sell Kaboul. Not only does he have everything required to be a top-class centre back, bar the discipline and awareness which experience will bring, but he cost £8m, we would never get that back if we sold him now. Kaboul should've played about 5 games all season with a few sub appearances. Anyone who thinks he's no good should never be allowed to watch football again because the lack of knowledge that would lead to an opinion like that is frankly embarrassing.

It would also be mental to sell O'Hara. Sell a left-footed, extremely eager and reasonably talented utility player who can fulfil a number of roles, has a passion for playing football, and has just broken into the England under 21 squad? Absolutely crazy.

I'd like to keep Boateng because I still think he could come good.

The same goes for Taarabt.

As I said, any suggestion of selling these young players only shows a complete lack of coherent thought.

Tainio? I'd like him to stay, as he's an excellent utility player who rarely makes mistakes and occassionally has great games. I have a bad feeling he will go though.

Berbatov is obviously long gone, and always was after the first few games this season.

Can't be arsed to talk about anyone else it's dinner time.

I'm very excited about the summer. I think we'll buy a couple of exciting new midfield players and we'll see Ramos' true team next season.

Bobbins, for such a crazy avatar you are the voice of reason. I concur with most of that.

However, the more I think about it the more I think Berba will still be here. Levy won't sell to ManUSA for a price they think worthwhile. The contract is long enough for us to stick our heels in.

I wouldn't have thought so—I assume we still hold his registration and would want to get some money for him—but I think you can safely assume he'll never play for Spurs again.

Murphy definitely has gone, though.

The fact is that with most teams, when come spring, and summertime there are always 5-15 players that "could" be sold. But teams never sell 15 players in one summer, even though they want it. You can't go on selling 15 players and expecting to buy another 15. That's why there are always unhappy players and/or players not good enough in the squad during the season.

This from the front page -

Source: Daily Mail

Tottenham boss Juande Ramos has insisted the club will never challenge for the Champions League unless they spend millions of pounds in the transfer market.

The Spanish coach had a taste of managing in the European Cup with his Sevilla side earlier in the season and is desperate to test his managerial skills against the best teams in Europe.

Ramos has wasted no time transforming Tottenham both on and off the pitch since he took charge of the club back in October and steered the club to their first piece of silverware since 1999 when they beat Chelsea to win the Carling Cup.

But the Tottenham boss has warned his own supporters that any dreams of breaking into the Champions League will have to take a backseat for a while until they can attract the best players in Europe to the club.

Ramos said: "It comes down to budgets at the end of the day. Budgets have a lot to do with this. The four teams involved in the final stages of the Champions League have the highest budgets.

"Therefore they are able to buy the best star players, they have the best options to buy those players.
"Now and then there can be a team that can break into those four as a surprise but it's very difficult and it all comes down to budget. We need to buy the best players."

Looks highly likely that we will have a very busy transfer window!
