Possibly. I suspect that, like others have pointed out, it might be a little reminder from Pochettino that - after last weekend's poor showing - just because Bentaleb has signed a lucrative new deal with us, he isn't guaranteed a place in the side unless he earns it on the pitch. Don't think it's a bad shout myself: whaddya reckon?

I don't know if anything else has gone on but I'm a great believer in giving players 3 games to work things out before dropping.

There's a few on here that it doesn't hurt enough when we lose and when a player underperforms. That's also fine but please don't have a pop at us that really do give a shit when we get rolled over twice by the likes of Stoke last year and Ryan mason plays in both and gets slaughtered yet plays again today. It means more to a few of us on here.... You know who you are

Having to work through the game annoyingly, so if people can keep us updated with scores/interesting moments it's actually really appreciated.

On a good day this thread pisses all over the text commentary on Sky and the BBC

small point and really not over reacting here, but it seems a little weird that neither wimmer nor fazio are on the bench... wimmer specifically... as long as nothing happens to verts today then all is good...

:borg::mask:

<bring back the shrugging smilie>

Dier on the pitch. Anything happens, Dier can drop into CH and Bentaleb come on.

Stoke are going to press us in the midfield and force us to make quick passes forward.

People want to air frustration and where better to do it than on a forum full of fellow spurs fans ? We all think we know best I'm sure but when we believe our side should do better and when the manager selects players that we believe aren't good enough we may well air our views ? Why not ? I would love to be proved wrong today as I love Spurs but I can't help looking at that midfield two today and thinking bang average. These two would not play central midfield for any of the top ten teams in our league.
Ah the old 'frustration' defence. Valid in isolation, maybe even when constructive, maybe even at the right time and the right place but from you? You've been banging the same bullshit drum in multiple threads lately that don't even have anything to do with it, if anyone needs to wind their necks in right now, its you.

Personally, I'm keen on two midfielders who are more defensively minded and prepared to sit. Dier and Dembele would be my first choice atm, but Mason might be ok. Bentaleb needed to be dropped.
