Wolves were awful yesterday, they were really bad and was there for the taking, most teams would have beat that Wolves-side. Only Neto was decent for them.

Can't believe I'm saying this but we were even more awful, that really says a lot.
Wolves are a mixed bag beat Arsenal and Chelsea and lose to Burnley. We are their equal with recent results. BUT we will get better and they will not. Im sure of that.

The players lacked ambition eh.
But of course replacing Ndombele & Son with Lamela & Sissoko screams attack.......

As does naming 4 defenders on the bench in addition to the 5 that started.

I anyone else banned from the Jose thread? It’s hardly a fair and balanced thread if everyone that has an anti Jose view is just banned. Is Trump running this forum because it feels like a dictatorship

Takes all the plaudits
when it's going well
and none of the blame when it doesn't.

I wonder if Jose got a good price
for his Grandmother.

If they had Jimenz we would have lost that game. I hate it when we have something to hold onto at half time right now. I just know what the second half will bring ?

Desperately concerning that one of the most experienced managers in world football has become completely and utterly tactically inept in an attacking sense.

He needs to work hard on a plan B, C and D, otherwise we'll keep slipping down the table.

Seems there are balanced arguements and discussions on there. What in particular did you post that got you the ban?

Maybe you're banned because you make ridiculous hyperbolic posts like that?

Whether we get better or not remains to be seen, but just over two weeks ago the team were sitting top of the league and many on here got carried away with it.
Even slagging off pundits who questioned our football style and the obvious mentality issues, both of which have been brought crashing to earth in true spurs style as once again the experts know that it never lasts long where we are concerned.
Just two points from a possible twelve is not the form of potential champions but instead one that flatters to deceive and folds when under pressure with expectation.

We’ve got world class players but we’re playing like we’re Burnley. Absolute joke, we score in the first minute and then Play all out stinkball, we should have been all over them, we had them on the ropes, but no, players like Harry Kane and Son Look like Sunday league players with these tactics.
Score a goal and then retreat and hide from the ball it’s bollox. It’s a cowards way of playing football

I don't believe Jose is telling the players to do nothing but defend a one goal lead. He isn't stupid, he would know this would be unsustainable and that it would only be a matter of time before he was sacked. He's clearly not telling them to continue playing as 0-0, but like I said that doesn't mean he's saying let's keep it 1-0. I think the plan is always for us to soak up pressure and counter when we're leading, but at the moment the latter is being executed very poorly so it looks like we're just trying to defend.

IMO one or more of these things are happening:

- He's giving out semi-contradictory instructions. For example, telling the players to counter attack to kill the game, but then also telling them not to commit many players forward at any one time because we have the lead. If you don't have enough players being ambitious enough, it can be very hard to construct counters and so it just looks as it was last night.

-The players are afraid of making runs forward for fear of Mourinho barking at them or subbing them for being defensively out of position.

-The players are lazy and or tired because making runs forward would require sprinting back to defend if the counter is unsuccessful.

-There is a lack of coaching on how the counter attacks are constructed. Perhaps we're just setting up to be an organised unit in training and Mourinho wants the players to do what they please in counter situations.

-Mourinho's defensive nature means when the players are looking scared to attack then he's not unhappy enough as to take any risks or decisive action to get us creating chances. This would be encouraging more to burst forward on the counter, making attacking subs or bringing the line up a touch.

The one thing I can't get my head around though, is the subs. Surely if you're unhappy with the lack of ambition in terms of creating chances then you don't take Ndombele off for Sissoko? A resignation of defeat at the players refusing to listen perhaps? Other than that I have no idea.

I am just perplexed as to why we'd actively look to defend and defend only against these sides. It just makes zero sense, if he kept doing that then he would be gone in the summer and he will surely know that more than anyone.

The sad reality is when we tried to maintain possession we weren’t good enough and most of our players couldn’t cope with the Wolves press and pressuring in packs. Watching Sanchez, Dier and Davies knocking the ball around the back to move it through Winks and PEH, is it any wonder we are constantly under pressure and defending. A few passes among themselves, nothing on, a bit of pressure then hit it forward aimlessly, then do it again. Ndombele was the one ray of sunshine and the only Spurs player that could look after the ball and try to build something.

Watching all the other draws in the premier league this weekend......the Wolves match seems more of a lost opportunity rather than a real disaster.
