Oh dear! You are joking of course? Comparing a Champions League Final to a League Cup takes some brainwashing! Let’s face it we won a couple of matches against second tier sides. We just sneaked past Brentford who were unlucky. Mind you we did at least have 50% of the ball so a big change.

Winning a LC final is nothing. We have won it several times and has never even registered as meaningful. It certainly won’t if we win it again. Sure beating one of the Manchester clubs again would be nice but the LC is worthless and always has been.

Of course I’m not comparing the League Cup to the CL as a competition. You are totally missing my point. Nice story though.

It's about getting that winning mentality into the players. When we have won it in the past we were nowhere near what we are today. This could really be a springboard to other trophys, which is why I will be celebrating massively if we win it.

At times I've wondered how much Spurs making a cup final affects Chas & Dave's streaming numbers. Was 2009-'14 a trickle of payments from Spotify followed by a gush of money in 2015 and then another barren spell till 2019?

Sure In comparison to the CL or a league title the LC is a ‘small’ trophy.
But for us right now it would mean so much than just a league cup.
Firstly it is a trophy. We haven’t held one for over a decade
It instantly makes us winners, it gets rid of that ‘Spurs haven’t won since 2008’ label.
It will build a great bridge for further successes.
The players will be winners, they will know they can do it and can do it again.
Kane and Son will have a trophy with Spurs. Players want to have winners medals.
Again it will make them feel they can achieve more with Spurs.
It is years without for some of these players after all.
Winning encourages others to join.
It will be a stepping stone for the future.

I appreciate with your name 1961 you will have seen some of the greats and this won’t compare to that but Winning this April 25th is only going to be a good thing.

Balance much better again today, felt we played some pretty slick stuff at times in the second half. The second goal was great to watch. Good reaction to the Wolves game.

Sissoko made a lot of forward runs all game, I wonder if it was a tactical thing or just a player showing some bravery and conviction. Either way fair play to him.

Really felt we controlled that game very well and set piece aside we defended well both individually and as a team. Hardly gave up anything in open play again and when we did Aurier and Son made good blocks. Brentford are a lower PL level side playing with a lot of confidence, that was a potential banana skin.

What a warrior Hojbjerg is too!

Hopefully we can continue to improve on the ball as the foundations are there to be built on now. We are defending well as a team and have deadly attackers, its just about tying it all together.

Interviewer: So, Moussa, do you know the song that's playing behind you?
MS: Sure. I've got all the Chas and Dave albums, actually. They were massive in France when I was growing up.

I was quite disappointed by them. All they did was hit it long first half. I was expecting more. They were a better team last season.

Anyway there isn’t much difference nowadays between top championship teams and lower PL teams. I agree on that.

We kind of forced them into that with out pressing though didn’t we. They also defended really well against us aside from the first goal. I will say this, they gave us more of a scare than Leeds, and looked less likely to concede against us.

The pass-map from tonight indicates much more of a 4-3-3 with Sissoko and Ndombele more advanced. Not that obvious on pitch but maybe there's been a slight change of system to get Ndombele on the ball a bit deeper, as he was tonight?

Would be a welcome change if this shape persists imo. Here's hoping it's not just because of the opposition.

This. It's incredibly important for our evolution as a club that we win any trophy ASAP. If we are going to truly establish ourselves as one of the most attractive clubs in the world we can't be starved on silverware. Our players will be buzzing if they win this and success breeds success.

None of this undoes what Poch did here, nor did I necessarily disagree with his philosophy at the time, but things change over time. Its actually how we make all his (& Levy's) hard work elevating the club to this level truly count, by keeping ourselves at that level.

Still in 4 competitions and currently sitting in the top 4, so much still to play for.

Someone explain to me what lasagne-gate has to do with going to Wembley?
Some blokes post went viral on the first lockdown. Was a voice memo saying he heard it on good authority the govt were making the world's biggest lasagna in Wembley stadium to feed everyone during lockdown. Was just a shite joke

I like that. Saw some of our pass maps in the last month or so and they looked so disjointed, that looks much more like it. Establish something like that against the lesser teams and we will win a lot of games. Jose can always save his classic style for the big games.

I liked how we worked the corner of their box a few times today too. Nice to see a bit more craft. Baby steps but encouraging.

Imagine upgrading Sissoko for Sabitzer (or even a fit Gio) in that lineup!

Good performance - controlled the game in most parts. Brentford with a little more luck could have caused problemms . Son briiliant finish. Pleased for Sissoko MOTM for me. Room for team improvement in some areas. We've beaten both Manchester clubs but they have both improved since im not sure we have?
