Lamela was truly eye watering

Well he could do with a kick in the bollocks.

He's a busted flush and i bet if Levy hadn't have paid so much for him he'd be gone by now. In his third season and offering as much, or possibly less than Bentley.

It's fucking ridiculous the treatment he's getting. He didn't play very well, but he is not the reason we lost. If he started and played shit all game then somewhat understandable (if you ignore all his assists last season) but he played for 30 mins when we we already crap for the first 15 on the second half. Someone needs to fill the Jenas role I guesse

Lamela was brought on as an impact substitution. The treatment he is getting is deserved, and all he has become is a serial fouler. Too slow to make an impact, too lightweight in the tackle and a luxury we can ill afford.

Poch will be out by Xmas at this rate. Just not good enough from a "head coach" of a top 6 prem team

I always worry about his substitutions as I feel he never gets it right. In fact usually the complete opposite of what I think.

Not at the game but no way in a million years I would of put on lamela for Kane with 20mins left. Should of just shut up shop and road the game out. Lamela constantly constantly looses possession

The team has been dismantled and we are finally putting together a team of young, hungry players. We WILL NOT get top 4 this year. I don't expect it and don't want it, because we are not ready.
The sooner people realise this the better. We can not compete with wages or club status until the new stadium is built and we have the money coming in.
We have to build the squad with young players with potential, and maybe a few players with experience. I believe we need a more experienced player in the middle, and another striker.
I don't blame Poch for his substitution. Kane had a calf strain and couldn't continue. We didn't have a backup striker. Lamela is still struggling with form, but nobody knows if he'll play poorly or have a blinder.
I personally would rather push for a third goal and not sit back and defend.
It's the 2nd game of the season. We didn't lose, we drew. And we lost to Stoke last season. It's not time to panic....YET!

You know my big worry right now is how many of our team would Swansea honestly swap for theirs? I'm not suggesting we'll finish below them as I don't think we will but I really don't think it would be many. Lloris and Kane obviously, Rose and Trippier I'd say and a CB to partner Williams but beyond that I'm not sure anyone. Siggy is so good for them I don't think they'd put Eriksen at 10 instead of him.

I'm not sure if it's a compliment to them or a cause of concern for us but I look at their midfield and it feels so much more efficient and balanced. Ki and Shelvey controlling possession, Siggy as pure number 10, real pace out wide, plus added goal threat of Ayew and a strong CF.

It's basic but sometimes I kind of wish we'd just set up like that, can still play it with a high press.

Poch said post match, that we controlled the game for 70 minutes......I do hope he noticed that Bentaleb was bought on in the 69th minute. After which Ireland ran the midfield, virtually unchecked. Lamela as an impact sub was extremely poor. Neither deserved to come on, 70 minutes 2 nil up, shut up shop and strengthen the midfield. We did the polar opposite.

This one is down to Poch.

It's ok saying pushing for a 3rd goal but the reality with Kane our only striker going off, it wasn't going to happen. And Lamela still struggling for form is an understatement!

Poch to blame for this one I'm afraid

We are seriously looking as though we'll be lucky to get top 8. Regardless of it being 2 games in, we showed yesterday nothing has changed and we still have players on our team who are incapable of pushing us forward.

So as we look back on the first week of the new season, no Spurs supporter will be surprised that again due to not being ready or having our squad sorted before the start of the Prem, that we have lost points. We probably could have been looking at 4pts from ManU and Stoke yet we have 1. 3pts at the end of the season is massive. We all knew this would happen. Dier in CM, no striker back up. It's a shambles but who expected anything different from THFC

Frustratingly we played well for large periods of the game, then totally capitulated after Kane went off. It concerns me that a small section of our fans are starting to call for a change of manager, as this is how the merry go round always starts.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I'm sure if Poch had known that Lamela would have been so poor he would have kept him on the bench. My point is there was nobody else to use up front and going defensive is always a risk. Now N'Jie has signed, we have another striker at least. I'm not blaming Poch until he has more options and doesn't use them.

New season, same old shit

Infuriating, really is.
But why are you surprised?. It's the same old shit, because we've done nothing different to change it other than a bit of hope and luck that may deliver improvement.

It's a shame that it always seems to be the way. The only exception was when we blew the Bale cash and got in all our targets fairly early, only for them to be poor choices.
It seems that until the top 5 clubs make there signings, we are having to wait. I'm sure if Man City wasn't interested in Berahino, we would have wrapped it up already. Or we are waiting on those clubs to replace their player before letting our targets leave. We just sold most of ours before replacing them.
Hopefully we get the last pieces of this jigsaw puzzle in the next week. Another striker and a DM please!!!

When the second goal went in yesterday I looked round our team to see how they were reacting - who was angry and determined to get on the front foot and get our lead back? Jan and Toby were looking at the floor in their own little world. Hugo was silent. The rest of them were milling about plodding back into position for kick off. The only one actually doing some shouting, geeing others up was Eric Dier.

To me this just shows how fundamentally flawed our approach to squad building is. There seems to be a theory that we can just buy a load of talented young players and throw them together. But you need characters in a team, people who get angry when goals go in and actually dish out some verbals to the people at fault.

For all his (many) faults this is one thing Redknapp understood about football. At the moment we look a team devoid of leadership and backbone.
