Can you believe Sunderland 0-0 Man U is game of the day?

Replace Man U with any other team in that 0-0 and it would never be game of the day.

To be fair, all the highlights will show is United getting dicked. If they chose it because they're United fans, then they're a bunch of sadists.

I dont get the whole Champions League hangover thing. We have played 4 matches in the competition, including the qualifiers and we have won 3 and lost 1 league match after. We have won 3 league games all season! Can we play in the Champions League every week?

When we were in the UEFA cup, particularly in 2006/2007, we'd normally get a win after playing on Thursday, and when we had a week's rest we'd usually lay an egg!

Just wish we'd beaten them and Wigan, we'd be top now

That's the thing - our real tests seem to come in the shape of bottom third teams in the last 2 seasons. One would hope we can finally learn how to beat that kind of opposition - and with VDV settling in the team more we have a better chance at that.

Villa were not really at the races for most of the second half (or even after they lost Heskey), and it was good that we took advantage of that.

Games against the truly plodding/spoiling teams will be even more important to win now.

Well done Spurs, well done 'Arry with your team selection and subs and a particular well done to VDV.....what a player, what passion, he truly deserves to be our captain, starting from the next game.
If only we had a team of VDV's and Gareth Bales we'd win the league no problem

Who cares if it's not game of the day on Sky, You lot all watched it on some dodgy asian stream or Iraqi goals anyway

Me, I'm turning over a new leaf, I listened to the BBC commentary and will record fooball first later while I'm out getting drunk.

Try it old skool - avoid all sports sources until you watch Match of The day. Even look away when they show the scores during the news.

I've been a member here for too long now. I had to go out for a meal so missed the match. I thought the best way to to find out the score and see the drama unfold would be to go to the match thread. As soon as I got on here I knew we had won because there was only 26 pages, if we had lost there would have been 126. I love this place. COYS!

Good win today! First 30 minutes was really strange the atmosphere was really flat and so was the teams performence but we slowly started to gain momentum and no doubt Rafas first goal on stroke of half time did change the game and gave us the momentum in the 2nd half to kick on where we were the better team and probably just about deserved the win.

Thought Huddlestone did ok at cb, Bassong was knocked off the ball far too easily by Heskey for there goal. Villa were really dirty leaving the foot in challanges and Ashley Young does not stop moaning all game! How Collins wasnt sent off for his challange on Lennon only Clattenberg will know!

Over all very good win in a potentially difficult game!
