No, you are wrong about Siggy and Demps. Siggy is just getting used to not playing in his normal position because of Bale and he is relatively young and only one season and has scored a few goals and a few crucial goals. Dempsey I admit has been disappointing and crap but he too has provided crucial goals vs Man Utd both times and Man City. They are both better than getting no one and I think Siggys got plenty to offer and is growing in the left position better now.

The comparison isn't getting no one it is spending £14m on other players. No doubt we could have done better and no doubt if we could get our money back, unlikely, that we could improve the squad.

I think they improve the squad even if slightly and at the time they looked like decent buys. Dempsey is one example of the risk that DL is aware of, even if only at 6 million. You can see that compared to last season he hasn't been as good even. NO wonder DL is afraid to commit such high fees, with a 6 mill fee not going quite according to plan, imagine a £16-20mill one. Siggy i think is underrated by most fans here. Also pretty sure he couldve been an AVB signing from what I've heard, could be wrong though

Siggy was signed before AVB arrived.

As to transfer risks I think DL's policy has been unduly shaped by 2 recent transfers. The first was the disaster of Bentley which has made him cautious. The second was the gift that was VdV, that convinced him that he could play chicken on deadline day and win. The sooner he gets over both and gets in a DoF / chief scout to deal with transfers the better.

A day after. Agree with his policy being shaped by those and his other dealings

Sinclair is on big wages and owned by City, he will not be cheap.

Wages would be an issue, don't think fee would. They bought him for about £6mil and his stock hasn't gone up at all, if anything it's gone done. In a strange way I could see Levy being all over him as long as wages weren't too high. Not sure if I'd like him though, he was amazing in the Championship and did well enough for Swansea in their first EPL season but not enough that I felt he merited a move to a top 4 club.

My missis reckons i have a big cock!! I have not. Just sharing.;)

If she reckons you have, but you say you haven't, then hang on to her, she's a keeper...

Baaaack on topic. Ince? Given we have Bale and Townsend both left footers, I would hope for someone else, maybe someone right footed with a bit more reputation within Europe too, but I wouldn't be totally against Ince as a backup for the right price.

Adam Suter and Spurvert (ex-SC member and quasi-ITK) and a couple others are going on about our interest in Ince on twatter - "deal is very close we have been in dialogue for weeks. Few things to tie up."

(If he's officially a WUM now, mods can go ahead and delete this, just thought Ince could be an interesting discussion with our current lack of ITK)

What about the signings of people like Modric, Sandro, Vertonghen & Berbatov ? No influence ?

Christ, I really don't want us wasting time on this one.

If we truly want him, fine, but we've got many more deals that need preferential treatment.

He's scored 20+ goals this season....and I believe he's better than Townsend, but not a great deal more. So I would defo get him and Townsend. But, I would really want Iker Munaian above all, but that's me being deluded. It's all up to Levy though.

I reckon we get him and unload Dempsey.... quick feet and good ball control.

Can he play up front? We definitely need a versatile winger who can play up front (or a versatile striker who can play on the wings).
