I wonder if Tom may have moved closer to playing for us if Capoue has broken his leg. Obviously different players but a midfield spot might have opened up...

Could we have done with him today ? Good point mind.

Nope he is gone, we have 6/7CM's for this very reason adding another would make no sense

Yeah, I think we're done with signing centre mids now. We have enough that can play various positions in the middle, he'll not get a look in still. This is why we've signed so many, strength in depth an' all that. We're bound to get injuries.

Shame if so as I think Tom's desire to keep the ball moving quickly and moving forward is something we are currently missing.

He still requires plenty of experience. As much as he is quality I do worry that he'd be eaten up by some games in the Premier League. If he was that amazing he'd be playing regularly for us already. Best to let him develop and grow.

As far as what you're saying that we're missing - this is why we have Holtby and Eriksen, IMO.

He just needs to bulk up a bit. Watching him on Thursday night, he looks like he is gaining some muscle mass, given another year then I think he will be ready for a rough and tumble season.

I don't think he'd be playing 90 minutes week in and week out but I like him a lot and think we could make space for him against certain opponents and he'd be a good sub to bring on to keep possession and see out games. Anyway - enough derailment - sorry.

No, good shout about TC playing for us. Would really add something to the current team with his WILLINGNESS to receive the ball and pass and move, something that our current setup does not excel at.

Ajax loan obviously would be something.
But if it is in the Championship in stead,
i think a more ideal season for him than 40 games of knuckle football,
would be playing 6 Europa League games and few games of the bench in first half of the season,
and then in the second half go out to someone we know will play him and give him half a season with lots of game time.
Worse that can happen to him is going out on loan without a call back clause and ride the bench untill january.
Let's build our Group Stage team around him.

Still think season loan to Ajax suits all here. Carroll gets vital experience, especially in Champions League and against Barca. Ajax are great at producing young talent, he'll learn a lot over there.

Loan to Ajax over a loan to QPR any day of the week. Does Redknapp understand the concept of looking outside of clubs he has previously managed for players?

Only matters which is the best club offering him regular football, I'd take regular football at Loftus Road any day of the week over stands of Amsterdam Arena

I think his game would progress more even if he wasn't a regular starter at Ajax. Like, the actual qualities of his game. Redknapp just wants him because he's good, Carroll won't advance his technical ability there as much as he would at Ajax (imo).

I do have faith for Harry in this aspect , see Townsend and Bale (...and Ryan Nelsen)

No matter how good Ajax training is, it's no substitute for competitive games at this stage of his career.

Now Capoue is injured Carroll should stay unless we get an unreal opportunity to progress him as a player like a year loan to Ajax.

Sending him to CP is a waste of time. Holloway will play him, but he is a f**king nut case so Carroll won't learn tactical discipline.

With Capoue injured I think we should keep Carroll unless he is going on loan to a Premiership team where he will be a regular starter. They are not the same type of player but Carroll can play in a deeper central midfield position.

If Capoue is fit (or close to it) in January then letting Carroll go on loan (even to a Championship side, if he is guaranteed first team football) might be OK.
